Author's POV Professor Slughorn was teaching second year students when he also witnessed the formation of the wall which here was showing how a particular potion was formed and what each ingredient of potion would do. He was impressed with the person who did this and continued to teach the children till the end of the class.
Then he as per his tradition of checking the capability of his students from the beginning of his teaching career by making them brew a potion which will be taught to them later in the same year on their first day. This year is different yet not different at all. He was waiting for the young witch who has been able to impress everyone by her skills, grades and experiences.

He was arranging the cauldrons for his students on the table when he heard a knock. In a loud clear voice he said Come In. All four of them entered the classroom and greeted the Professor which was acknowledged by him in the form of a nod and a smile. Then he said Alright students take your seats and Miss... To which Kenna replied Kenna Green sir. He once again nodded and said Very well Miss Green. I saw your grades and I expect you to live up to those grades in Hogwarts as well.
She nodded and went to sit on the front seat. Ariana was going to sit on the different seat when Kenna asked her What happened ? Where are you going to sit ? Ariana then with guilt written all over her face replied Sorry Kenna but we all have our Parents assigned to each other and my partner is Abraxas Malfoy. So I really have no choice but to sit with him. Maybe you might also get a good partner and even a friend when Professor will assign you a partner as well.
She nodded in agreement and started to read the book and soon the class started to fill by students whispering and talking among themselves but she was completely concentrated on the books marking various things and other things that she didn't even notice Tom sitting beside her after finding no empty seat.
She looked up from her book when Professor Slughorn asked Has everyone got their seat ? There was a loud reply from students YES SIR!!! He nodded and said that Today I brewed a concoction in the morning can anyone identify what this is ?Six hands were raised and everyone knew the five hands but Slytherins and Gryffindors who didn't choose History of Magic were shocked to see Kenna also raising hands along with Tom, Abrax, Rose, Jonathan and Ariana.
Professor Slughorn looked at Kenna and told her to answer the question to which she replied This is Amortentia Professor. In order to further check her knowledge he asked How can you say that this is Amortentia ? Kenna looked at him and said Professor due to its Mother of pearl sheen and spiralling steam. He nodded in approval and then again asked to give him the description of Amortentia. She then looked him straight in the eyes and said Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in existence. It caused a powerful infatuation or obsession from the drinker. It has a distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rise from it in spirals. .It had a different aroma for everyone who smelt it, reminding each person of the things that they found most attractive, even if the person did not acknowledge or was unaware of their fondness for the object of their affection themselves. However, although certainly powerful, Amortentia did not create actual love, as it was impossible to manufacture or imitate love. The person under the effect of the potion would only hold an obsession for the person who administered it. So this would also mean that the potion could not undo true love, meaning that Amortentia would not be able to displace true feelings of intimacy.
