"Buon lavoro ballerini" Marcello's voice erupted through the room as he clapped his hands in satisfaction. (Good job dancers).
The man stood tall as he crossed his arms over his frame, narrowing his eyes as they wandered over the dancers in the room.
Pursing his lips and furrowing his thick brows, Marcello noticed the absence of his star dancer.
He was due to choose the solo ballerina for the performance very soon, and with Angelita absent it only made his job harder.
"Take a 5 minute break" The man instructed, running a hand through his hair as he thought deeply. The ballerinas hurried to their benches, some gulping down water whilst others stretched.
"I heard Angel is in Russia" Alessandro pried as he titled his head to Flora and Raven.
The two girls, friends of Angel, smiled awkwardly before nodding their heads.
Alessandro took a deep breath as he shifted in disquiet.
"Her family had some business to attend" Raven retorted bitterly, her sentence short and passive.
Since the gala, an uncomfortable feeling had grown between the ballerinas. Raven grew a dislike towards Alessandro ever since she saw him being cordial with Bianca.
"Why would she leave when the performance is only a few weeks away?" Alessandro inquired, shaking his head as he scoffed in disbelief.
The young boy thought that the behaviour of Angel was uncommon. He knew that Angel was a dedicated ballerina, why she would leave for Russia rather than practice her ballet was unknown to him.
"That's none of your business Alessandro" Raven retorted, her eyes avoiding the boy as she wished to banish his existence.
Flora pressed her lips in a thin line, smiling pitifully at the boy. Alessandro huffed in annoyance, flaring his nostrils before responding.
"Why are you acting like this Raven?" His tone was flat, scoffing at the girl's immaturity. Raven remained silent, rolling her eyes as she turned away from the conversation.
"Just give her some space" Flora tried to ease the situation, raising her shoulders as she sent a sympathetic smile to the boy.
Alessandro remained in a state of confusion, his brows furrowing as he felt his breathing grow rapid in frustration.
Flora turned to join Raven, but was stopped by an arm holding her back.
"Flora, please" Alessandro begged. His eyes softening as they stared into the girl's large brown ones.
"Did I do something wrong?" The boy urged as he let out a pitiful breath. Since the gala, he had been a mess. His emotions were caught in a tangled disaster.
Flora sighed before scratching the back of her neck.
"I think she's just upset that you danced with Bianca at the gala... I mean, Bianca has been nothing but rude to all of us" Flora explained with wide eyes.
