Ever since Ella and I got married, we've been talking about kids. How many kids do we want, what will we name them, what gender do we prefer...
I never thought of it before, never wanted to have kids. I thought that people like me can't have children, that I'm broken to that point, kids would rather suffer with me than feel like they have a loving father.
But things changed.
Still, that fact sometimes scares me. Terrifies me. But for her I will try, I'll do my best. And to see her like this, to feel her- it's more than unbearable.
"Love?", I try to talk with her. To get her to talk, to be there for her, take her pain away.
"Aaron, I can't", she sobs, "I can't do this- I can't live like this. I-", she collapses, but I catch her.
I kiss top of her head, brush my fingers through her tangled hair, "Hey, don't say that.", I tilt her chin up, to look at me. Clear blue eyes, filled with hurt and fear, stare right at me, "Don't you remember? You're the one who never gives up. You're the only one who brought all of us back to life, when we felt like dying.", I lean down to put a kiss on her forehead, "We won't give up, right? This can be connected to your nightmares. Maybe you're stressed lately because of it. But nightmares disappeared right?"
She looks at me for couple more seconds, realizing I asked her a question, "Right.", she mumbles.
I put a small smile on my face, "Then it means that you won't be occupied with it anymore. And when we least expect it-", I brush tear that dropped from her left eye, "We will get good news.", I convinced her, hoping I was right. I can't see her like this. Not again. Not anymore.
In return, I get only one nod. One, but sure nod of her head.
