Hi Humans,
I know, surprise! Dropping an update on Thursday! I couldn't wait to upload this one, and I know ya'll have been waiting on the edge of your seats, so here it is. I'm sorry there's no spice in this one, and promise you'll be reading a deflowering scene in the next chapter! There was just more plot that had to be worked through in this chapter before we got to it. I hope you enjoy this update, and hope you are all hanging in there.
I know the events of this week have been difficult for many to process, and I hope you reach out to safe people in your lives for support as we go forward. Take care of yourselves, and take care of others in the LGBTQ+ community in this time. Stick together. Again, I apologize for the delays. I will probably only be able to get one chapter out per month at this point, as my autoimmune disease has really been kicking my ass, plus parenting is a whole other full-time job. I hope everyone had a fabulous spooky season! I know I'll be decorating for Christmas early this year, cause fuck it, I feel like it. (^.^)/
Lastly, super excited to say I've got new artwork I'll be dropping today on my Instagram! Please head over there to check it out. I'll be working with the artist in the future from now on and am really excited. Please pay Tahn's profile a visit, and I will tag them in my post ofc so you may find them. We both seem to share one single brain cell, sense of humor, plus same taste in imaginary men. Therefore we are coming up with the most delightfully chaotic art ideas and I really look forward to sharing them in the future!
Okay, enough rambling. Without further ado here is the next update! I look forward to hearing how you guys felt about this chapter, and again, please take care of yourselves. <3 -Quill

"Doesn't matter what they say, in the jealous games people play..." The chorus from the Go-Go's 'Lips are Sealed' filled the living room, Lucas singing along loudly as if he had no cares in the world. He leapt off the couch and skittered across the floor into the kitchen, to bump his hip against mine as he sang. "Hush, my darling, don't you cry... quiet angel, forget their lies..."
I smiled and shook my head, trimming and halving green beans while Lucas provided all the entertainment. Typically, I'd listen to a podcast or something while cooking, or watch a movie in the background, but with Lucas bouncing off the walls, there was simply no need. In fact, I'd never been bored once with Lucas around now that I thought about it. He just made things fun.
As the music swelled, Lu started whipping his curly head around wildly. "Look at me go! I can make a perfect circle!" he cackled. "Like, I don't even get dizzy, and I could go like this for ten minutes easy! Ian can't even keep up with me!"
I laughed and shook my head, sidestepping 'round him to toss the ends in the trash. "Very impressive."
"Right!" Lucas grinned, and his lean frame started to wobble some the more he whipped his head around.
"Lucas?" I questioned, dropping the finished beans into a separate bowl. "Don't take this the wrong way, but you ever been tested for ADHD?" His head popped up at the mention of the word 'ADHD', face beat red from all that activity.
"No!" He chirped, gray eyes widening as he thought. "But I always kinda operated on the assumption it's my problem, cause I get hyper randomly. Mostly at home when I'm all alone in my room, or I like to do shit like this. Mostly, though, it's really fucking hard for me to focus ninety-nine-point nine percent of the time. Which is basically ALL The time except for-"
"-one percent?" I cut in with a smirk.
"YES." He nodded firmly, running his hand through his hair as he caught his breath. And he was right, he didn't look dizzy, not so much as a waver in his step as he trotted to my side.
I just smiled. Lucas could be super extra, sure, but as he always said, he was "just the right amount of extra" for me, and I had to agree with him. He seemed very intelligent and compassionate, while his humor was unfiltered and off-kilter; hell, kid was funny without even trying most of the time. Despite all the shit he'd been through over his young life, he still had this joy about him that was contagious. Lucas made me feel alive; he was much like a breath of fresh air to my lungs, an ice-cold glass of water on a sweltering day. Something about his presence put me at ease, and I couldn't remember the last time I felt this way with someone. That, and he was so goddamn adorable—like the cutest fucking cinnamon roll. Didn't help that he looked so kissable in the T-shirt. I had given him to wear either. I was kinda glad I'd ruined his shirt earlier, heh.
"Never said what you were making, ya know." He said curiously and popped up onto the counter next to me. My eyes wandered to the parts of him that the oversized shirt exposed, as it was hanging off him like a dress, leaving his right shoulder visible and much of his collarbone. He looked so cute I could drop kick him or something. "Cute aggression" is what that's called, or so Addie has told me.
