,,draco?"
i mutter whilst squinting my eyes, walking up to him. the only light that shows him is the glow off of the water and the moonlight. it slowly starts to reveal his face as i get closer.,,oh hey...couldn't sleep, you?"
,,yeah same..." i pause looking at the scene,
,,it's incredible.",,it really is."
he turned his gaze back to the water, a small, almost wistful smile playing on his lips. i sat down beside him, feeling the cool grass beneath me, the faint mist from the waterfall floating in the air.for a few moments, neither of us spoke, the quiet between us filled only by the soft sound of water cascading down.
finally, he broke the silence. ,,you know, i don't come here with other people. usually it's just me...and then you." he said, his voice softer than usual.
i glanced over at him, studying his profile in the moonlight. ,,why did you show me?"
he shrugged, avoiding my eyes. ,,i don't know. i thought you would like it and that it would be nice if we sat here sometimes. i wouldn't do that with my other friends though. they all think i'm some tough slytherin boy who only cares about his legacy."
i felt a pang of sympathy, understanding more clearly just how much weight he carried alone. ,,i think people would see properly it if you let them. you're not as invisible as you think, draco."
he looked over at me, his expression unreadable. for a moment, i thought he was going to brush off my words, maybe even laugh, but instead, he just nodded, as if my words had struck something deeper.
,,maybe," he said quietly, then added, almost as if he didn't mean for me to hear, ,,but it's easier to stay hidden."
i wanted to say something comforting, something that would help ease that guarded look in his eyes, but before i could, he shifted closer, his shoulder brushing lightly against mine.
,,thank you, y/n," he murmured, his voice low but sincere. ,,for not giving up on me."
i smiled, feeling my cheeks warm in the cool night air. ,,i told you, i'm here. always."
we sat there for what felt like ages, wrapped in the silence, both of us lost in our own thoughts but somehow connected. the world around us faded, leaving just the vibrant glow of the waterfall and the two of us under the stars.
i moved even closer to his body and let my head fall on his shoulder. the warmth of him seeped into my skin, and for a moment, everything else seemed to fade away.
draco's body stiffened for a fraction of a second before relaxing, his arm hesitantly slipping around my shoulders. his breath caught in his throat, but he didn't pull away. i felt his muscles tense slightly, but he didn't say anything. the silence between us felt comfortable, but it was charged with something unspoken, something neither of us was willing to name yet.
