It was late when Yn and Summer finally stumbled back to their apartment after a fun, laughter-filled night out with the others. The evening had been full of stories, jokes, and drinks, and Yn couldn't remember the last time she'd enjoyed herself so much.
As they walked through the door, Summer let out a small laugh. "That was such a good night, I feel like I haven't laughed that much in ages."
Yn smiled, feeling the same. "Me neither. It's always nice to unwind with everyone. We needed that."
They made their way to the couch, where they kicked off their shoes and settled in together, each a little tipsy but happy. Without much thought, they wrapped their arms around each other, the closeness and warmth making them feel instantly comfortable. It didn’t take long for them to drift off, their bodies naturally finding the perfect positions as they hugged through the night.

The next morning, the sunlight was streaming in through the windows, causing Yn to stir. She squinted against the brightness, her head pounding slightly. She felt a warm arm around her waist and looked down to see Summer still fast asleep, her head resting peacefully on Yn's chest.
"Ugh... I don’t know if it’s the drinks or the lack of sleep, but my head is killing me," Yn muttered, running a hand through her messy hair.
Summer stirred, groaning softly. "Same... what happened last night? It felt so good at the time, but now... headache central."
Yn chuckled, gently brushing a lock of hair out of Summer's face. "I think we both had a little too much fun. But honestly, it was totally worth it."
Summer smiled up at her, blinking sleepily. "Yeah, it was. I haven’t had that much fun in ages."
The two of them laid in silence for a few more moments, just enjoying the quiet morning. Then, a knock at the door interrupted the calm.
Yn groaned. "Who’s that at this time?"
Summer raised an eyebrow. "Probably one of your teammates. Go on, I’ll get up in a minute."
Yn dragged herself out of bed, feeling a little unsteady on her feet. She opened the door to find Leah standing there, a slight frown on her face.
"Morning, Leah. What's up?" Yn asked, trying to shake off the drowsiness.
Leah didn't hesitate, jumping right into the reason for her visit. "Did you hear anything about the international call-up yet? I’m dying to know if you made it."
Yn felt a quick flutter of nerves but forced a smile. "Not yet. I haven't gotten anything, unfortunately."
Leah’s face dropped slightly, and she seemed to deflate at the news. "Ah, that’s a bummer. I really thought this would be your year."
Yn shrugged, trying to sound casual despite the disappointment she felt. "It’s fine, Leah. I'll keep working hard. If the call comes, it comes."
Leah nodded but still looked a little down. "I’m sure it’ll happen soon. Keep pushing, alright?"
"Thanks, Leah. I appreciate it," Yn said, giving her a reassuring smile.
Leah hesitated for a moment before turning to leave. "Alright, well, I’ll catch you later. Take care of yourself, okay?"
"Will do," Yn replied, closing the door behind her.
As soon as Leah left, Summer emerged from the bedroom, already in the process of making coffee. "Everything okay?" she asked, noting the slight frown on Yn’s face.
"Yeah," Yn replied, trying to shake off the conversation. "Leah just came by to ask if I got a call-up. But no, not yet."
Summer could see the disappointment lingering on Yn’s face. "I’m sure it’ll happen. You’ve been playing amazing, Yn. You’ve earned it."
Yn smiled, appreciating the encouragement. "Thanks, Summer. It means a lot."
The two of them were quiet for a moment, as Summer continued to make the coffee and Yn sat at the table, letting the events of the morning settle in her mind.
Suddenly, Yn’s phone rang, breaking the silence. She looked at the screen and saw the name Sarina pop up.
"Uh... this is unexpected," Yn said, looking at Summer with wide eyes. "It’s Sarina, the national team manager."
Summer’s eyes went wide as well. "Answer it! This could be it!"
Yn quickly picked up the phone. "Hello?"
"Hi, Yn, it’s Sarina," came the voice on the other end. "I’m calling to let you know that you’ve been selected for the upcoming international friendlies against Germany and Ireland. We’d love to have you join us."
Yn froze for a second, unable to believe what she was hearing. Her heart raced, and her excitement bubbled up. "Wait, really? Oh my god, yes! I’m in?!"
"Yes, you’re in," Sarina confirmed with a smile in her voice. "You’ve earned it with your performances. We’re excited to have you with us."
Yn felt a surge of emotion. It was finally happening—everything she had worked for was coming to fruition. "Thank you so much, Sarina. I won’t let you down. I’m really excited for this."
"I’m sure you won’t," Sarina said. "You’ll get all the details soon. We’ll see you soon, Yn."
After the call ended, Yn sat there for a moment, her hand still holding the phone. Then, she jumped out of her chair, unable to contain her excitement.
"Summer!" she exclaimed, her face lit up with joy. "I got it! I got the call-up! I’m going to play for the national team!"
Summer dropped the spoon she had been holding in shock, her face breaking into a huge grin. "No way! That’s amazing! I’m so proud of you, Yn!"
Yn couldn’t stop smiling as she rushed over to Summer, pulling her into a tight hug. "I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long! I can’t believe it’s happening."
Summer held her tightly, her voice full of excitement. "You’ve earned it. You’re going to be incredible out there. I know it."
They pulled away from the hug, and Yn immediately started dancing around the kitchen in pure happiness.
"Okay, okay, don’t make me dizzy," Summer laughed, watching Yn twirl around.
Yn paused, out of breath but still smiling. "I just... I’m so happy right now. This is everything I’ve dreamed of."
Summer walked over and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead. "You deserve it. This is just the beginning, Yn."
And as Yn stood there, basking in the excitement of the call-up, she felt more ready than ever for whatever came next. But little did she know, there were still some surprises on the horizon—ones that might just test her in ways she couldn’t imagine yet.
