"Mac's Meeting Day" book 1

“Hmm, is it a high school reunion?” Nan asked as he was about to leave the rink.

Mac's dad called to tell him he had received an invitation to his high school reunion in the next few days.

"Hmm, but I don't think I'll go," Mac replied. Nan narrowed his eyes at Mac.

“Why won’t you go?” Nan asked.

"Well... I don't know. I don't really want to go," Mac replied quietly.

"Are you afraid that your friends will kill you?"

“Do they ask about your studies?” Nan asked Mac.

Mac was too lazy to answer his friends' questions. He knew this since he was in high school. He himself wasn't a very good friend, so he doesn't know whether people will like him or not. Mac hasn't even graduated yet. Although his high school classmates had already graduated, Mac didn't finish his studies and he doesn't want to answer questions or see the mocking expressions of his classmates.

"What's wrong?" Nan asked again.

"Just a little bit, it's probably the same as every year. It wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't there," Mac said again.

"Why are you embarrassed? It's true that you haven't finished studying yet. But you changed and you're interested in studying, aren't you? It's not about what level you graduate from, but how you live your life. As much as your life is worth living, what do you care about other people's words?" Nan explained a little. Mac remained a little silent.

"Brick will probably leave too. I'll try calling and asking again. You can stay with El, because you and I are already okay, right?" Nan replied. Mac was silent for a while.

"So you're not coming with me?" Mac asked, Nan raised his eyebrows slightly.

Do you want me to go with you? Nan asked, Mac nodded.

"Aren't you ashamed of others? Why would you take me with you?" Nan asked jokingly, causing Mac to frown immediately.

"Why should I be ashamed?" Mac asked.

"Well, I'm just a normal person. Your friends would embarrass you, wouldn't they?" Nan asked, making Mac instantly angry.

"Why should I be ashamed? You say that, what kind of person do you see me as? Do I have such a bad personality? If I go to the meeting, why don't I take you with me?" Mac immediately yelled at Nan. That made Nan walk towards him and then pretend to put his arm around Mac's neck to get him to come closer to him. But Mac pushed him away in frustration.

"What's going on? Can't I just joke around? I'm getting louder than I am now, aren't I? I don't think you're angry at all," Nan asked in a serious tone.

Mac pursed his lips slightly before sitting at the end of the bed and said nothing. But his expression was a little tense. There was sediment in his heart. Which makes Mac irritated and think a lot.

"Are you going to the country? I don't want to talk about anything right now," Mac said.

Nan stared at Mac with calm eyes. He could tell if Mac was really stressed.
