It has been the roughest week for the Superhero Girls. Their new friend Damon had been put in the hospital and the one who put him there had turned out to be a freaking greater nightmare of an enemy than they realized. Worst to even as the footage of the fight where Kara had managed to rip a hole into Shame's chest has gone viral. Everyone was shocked to see that one of the city's protectors, Supergirl herself, had seemingly killed a man. A lot of mixed emotions, reactions and responses were flooding the social web, all negative in Kara's eyes. Due to this, Karen had thought that it would be for the best that the team lay low for a while. The city was going to be without a few of its protectors, but they can only hope that some others could live up to their expectations.
(SCHOOL BELL RINGS)
Kara:"I hate doing this. I really really hate doing this."
Zee:"It's only for a little while, Kara. Let it go."
Kara:"I looked like a freaking monster out there, Zee. My dear little cousin, Kal, gave him a freaking earful when he came to visit, even after I tried to explain! Now I just feel like I'm freaking leashed; that monster, Shame, is still out there still living and breathing. He has a lot to answer for the next time I see him."
Zee:"Look, the important thing is that Damon is going to get out of the hospital today, and we should be there for him since he still is in the middle of repairing that gym of his. AND he has vital information about Shame that could help."
Kara:"I know. I just feel so held back."
Zee:"Well, it could be worse."
And as if it on cue after she said, they then turned to see some commotion happening around the halls, and it was Leslie Willis handing out merchandise calling Supergirl a "super killer". Metropolis High's gossip queen was at it again with this gimmick, expanding upon it even; handing out t-shirts that portrayed Supergirl as a devil with horns and flames, or pictures of when she rammed her fist through Shame. How she managed to get raw footage of that, high-res pics of the moment Supergirl seemed to ruin her reputation? Well, you know what they say. It's not who you know, it's how you know them.
In this case, Leslie knew a lot of people the right way.
Leslie:"Get your super killer merch here! See that super ditz for what she truly is! Perfect merch for the perfect occasion."
Students were eating the stuff like candy. Zee eyed this with nervousness while Kara just looked down.
Kara:"It's worse."
Some time later, at Metropolis General, Damon was just about ready to check out as he was in a wheelchair, but was looking completely fine. Some of the doctors were even bewildered by this recovery of his, but it was still a relief.
Doctor:"Now, despite your rather miraculous recovery, I strongly recommend that you take it easy and take some pain killers for...about a week or so. Scans show that you're rather bruised in some areas."
Damon:"Thanks, Doc. But I think I can handle that. I'll walk it off."
Doctor:"Well, alright. But do come back if you're having some more problems."
And with that, Damon started to walk home, but not before a familiar looking mini van, brown in color with a metal rail on top, came by squeaking wheels. The windows came down to reveal Babs, Diana, and Jessica in the driver seat.
