street lamps and sunrises do not illuminate the earth the same way
yet delight we find when the roads glisten and beam after it's just rained
should we dance along the glow or simply admire from the car?
under the night's quiet lull, the pavement bursts with life
each sparkle reminds me of something in your eyes
though the sun sets, we know of her beauty and trust she will return
shall we wait for her together?
over hills and peaking through trees, rest the sun's lazy beams
her touch a warm caress, where yours sets my soul alight
whether it be street lamp or sunlight that guide me home,
I will continue to search for you in every glow.
