Runaway Maverick Mecha Boy

Back in the UNGCC facility hangar bay in Hokkaido, Kiryu, the UNGCC and GDF's last remaining mecha, was getting ready for launch to stop M.O.G.U.E.R.A..

Kyosuke Akiba and Yoshita Chujo were getting ready and suiting up to pilot Kiryu when Akane Yashiro approached them, a hint of worry etched across her features. Even as someone who had experience piloting Kiryu before and was very skilled at it, Akane knew just how formidable M.O.G.U.E.R.A. actually was. She had been briefed on the rogue mecha boy's modifications and abilities, and once she knew the details, she was very worried about the mission. By no means was this Rogue Mecha Boy any pushover.

As she spoke, a look of worry crossed her face. "Hey you two…to be honest, I'm a little concerned about this mission," Akane confessed. "MOGUERA is modified from Super Mechagodzilla with some serious firepower. Firepower that fires faster than Kiryu’s Absolute Zero Cannon. Not to mention his Artificial Diamond alloy and Synthetic Blue Diamond Armor coating and his energy shield..." she said, her brow furrowed with concern,”And Those Automatic Tracking Lasers….trying to dodge those will be a nightmare. I…I don't know, I just…I don't think…” Akane added, her voice laced with a hint of despair before she trailed off.

Akiba and Yoshita looked at each other for a second, then back at Akane. “Let me guess, you want to know if this mission is suicide?” asked Akiba, her tone tinged with understanding. 

Akane's eyes welled up with tears at the question. She bit her lip, trying to hold back the emotions threatening to overwhelm her. She didn't want to lose her friends, and the possibility was gnawing at her. "I...I don't want to believe it is," Akane said, her voice trembling slightly. "Kiryu’s a great machine, but...with MOGUERA’s weapons and defensive capabilities we’ve been briefly informed of, Godzilla’s attacks, unlike with Kiryu, are basically nothing to that machine. Even with Kiryu being our last line of defense...I just don't see how we can win." 

She took a deep breath, wiping away a stray tear. "Still though, I'm counting on you two to bring MOGUERA down. Please, be careful. I...I don't think I could handle losing either of you." Akane's words were laced with emotion, her fear and anxiety palpable.

Filled with a sense of inevitability, she was preparing her friends for the worst-case scenario. The fact that Kiryu was their last Mecha Kaiju Girl, let alone the last anti-kaiju Mecha in general, only added to the sense of desperation and hopelessness. If Kiryu fell, that was it. The UNGCC and GDF would have no more Mechas left and would only be down to anti-kaiju combat vehicles which usually were not enough against certain Kaiju. 

Akiba reached out and placed a comforting hand on Akane's shoulder. Yoshita's expression was similarly understanding, showing that they accepted whatever may happen beyond this point. Deep down, Akane felt like this was more of a permanent goodbye. This mission was pretty much sending them into a fight they very likely couldn't win, as they would be facing not only M.O.G.U.E.R.A. but also Godzilla and Junior, his new companions, and that just made it worse. 

However, Akiba and Yoshita looked resolute, and their determination was infectious, if not a bit sad. "We'll do our best, Akane. We have to, for the sake of humanity," Akiba said firmly ." And who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky and catch MOGUERA off guard,” Yoshita added with a small smile.

But Akane just shook her head, her expression sorrowful. "I don't know, guys... I just have a very bad feeling about this. Please, be careful. If anything happens to either of you..." she trailed off, unable to finish the thought.

“We know,” Said Akiba with a resigned tone.

“It's alright Akane…we understand,” Yoshita added. 

They spoke calmly, for they already knew what awaited them. They seemed to accept their likely fate, going into a 1v3 battle against Godzilla, her child, and the UNGCC and GDF’s most powerful robot that had now turned Maverick. They knew the high possibility that they probably weren't going to come out of this mission alive.
