The Akuma roared with laughter. I was surprised that no one was awake, considering the amount of noise it made. But it was for the best that no one came running; I didn't need the Akuma to evolve. "The virus will kill you in a matter of seconds, and even though you have Innocence, there's nothing you can do to stop it!"

"Are you sure about that?" My Innocence said, hissing slightly. "I am a parasitic Innocence, meaning that I can cleanse the virus from my host." The virus stopped spreading and suddenly retreated. "Plans foiled huh."

"WHAT!?" The Akuma cried out. "No no no! The Earl told me to destroy the Innocence and the Exorcists!"

My Innocence laughed, thrilled by its desperateness. "We told you before, we aren't Exorcists." The Akuma attempted to jumped at me again but it stopped in midair, and exploded into bits. I breathed heavily and got up, leaning against the wall of the dark alleyway. Fresh blood trickled down my arms, covering the already dried trails. I held onto my right arm in attempt to stop the bleeding.

"Rest easy, Y/N. I'm sorry that I activated when you're still bleeding." My Innocence said softly.

"It's not your fault." I replied, coughing. "You even said it yourself; you'll activate when I'm in danger, no matter what."

The small red hands retreated and placed themselves on my face, like a mother caressing her child's cheeks. "You'll see me soon. I promise." And with that the hands disappeared.

I saw some bandages near the window in the empty house you ran past earlier. My Innocence whispered in my head.

Thank you. I thought to her. I coughed into my hand. Blood. I'm losing too much blood. I took out the last of the bandages from my pocket and wrapped my forearms twice.

Walking out of the dark alleyway, I traced my steps back to the last house I had past. The night shone brilliantly with the silver moonlight. A lonely window was wide open. This one? I asked.

Yeah. They should be on the coffee table not twenty inches away from the window.

I quickly looked around to see if anyone caught me in the middle of my scheme. The road was bare and the moonlight grew brighter, as if it was possible. Seeing no one, I dove into the dark house and slowly pulled the window to until there was a small slit of the dark night. I surveyed my surroundings and quickly found the coffee table. Snatching the bandages I raced back to the window, pushed it slightly, and dove back out.

I stuffed the new roll into my jacket and hurried back into the alleyway. Sleeping outside was not an option; I'd rather take the chance of meeting an Akuma than being pestered by worrisome villagers. I slid down the wall of the dark alley and took off my jacket, using it as a pillow. I shut my eyes, falling asleep almost instantly. Sleep well, Y/N.

Flashback...

"Brother!" I shouted, running to his bloody body. He had been pushed down the hill and punctured by the sharp rocks below. The day I finally find him. And he's dead. I closed his clear eyes, tears dangerously close to falling down. I never wanted to see him like this. Not this way.

"How did this happen?" I asked the woman, who was now next to me. I was running through the forest, running away from an Akuma, when I heard a scream. A scream that I recognized. Brother only screamed when he was in pain.
