Chapter 12

America's pov

When I woke up this morning, I checked my phone for the date. It was July 31st. I smiled.

It was Jessica's birthday.

I ran to the spare bedroom I had and jumped on the bed Jess was sleeping in.

I kept shaking her and yelling, "Wake up, birthday girl! It's time to celebrate!" She groaned as she threw a pillow at me.

"Shut up, I'm trying to sleep," She replied. I grinned as I got a devilish idea in my head. I picked her up quickly and ran to my backyard.

"Hey, what are you-" But before she could finish her sentence, I threw her in my pool. She swam up and scold me.

"WHY THE F*CK DID YOU DO THAT?!" She yelled at me as she got out of the pool.

"Happy birthday," I simply responded. She groaned.

"How the heck did you even know that today was my birthday?" She asked me. I grinned.

"Your friends told me," I explained. Jessica sighed.

"Of course they did...." she mumbled, "I'm going to get into dry clothes now." I saw Jessica walk back inside as I chuckled. Suddenly, I heard a loud knocking on the door.

Who could that be?

I went to the front door and saw Mia and Ashton. They both had presents in their hands and were smiling.

"Hey America," Mia greeted, "Where's Jessica?"

"Oh, she's just changing," I replied, "Come in you two and thanks again for telling me when Jess' birthday was." They both nodded and entered into my living room.

"I swear if you do that again, Alfie, I-" Jessica said as she walked into the room, but stopped when she saw her two friends. She growled, "Why the hell would you tell this idiot my birthday?" Ashton giggled.

"Well, I just thought that your future boyfriend should know your birthday," She answered nonchalantly. I felt my face heat up. I turned to Jessica and her face was pure read.

"A-And why did you tell him, Mia?" She stuttered. I looked at Mia who was thinking for a moment.

"Well...I told him because you always hang out with him, I thought that he should know. That's all," She explained as she smiled softly. Jessica took a deep breath as her face returned to her normal color.

"Anyway Jessica," Ashton uttered, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We got you presents!" Jessica smiled as Ashton and Mia handed their presents to her.

"Thanks guys," she muttered. She opened the gift she got from Ashton first. It was some Manga, but I didn't see the name of it.

"Oh my god! Thanks Ashton!" Jessica exclaimed. Next, she opened Mia's gift, which turned out to be the first Fantastic Four movie. Wait, Jessica likes superhero movies?

"I didn't know if you would like this, but I hope you do," Mia said, "Happy Birthday." Jessica smiled.

"I love it! Thanks Mia," She responded while smiling.

"Wait, you like superhero movies?" I asked. Jessica nodded.

"Yep~" she muttered cheerfully, "Hey! We should watch it now!" Ashton nodded.

"Ok!" She exclaimed as she jumped on the end of the couch. Jessica put the movie in and sat on the other side of the couch. I sat between the two as Mia sat in the love-seat. As the movie went on, I decided that I would try something....something that I always wanted to do. I faked yawned and brought my arm over Jessica's shoulder. Jess turned her head towards me and glared.

"You did NOT just do one of the most cliché things that you can do while watching a movie with someone else..." She uttered. I smirked.

"I think I did, sweetheart," I replied. I heard Ashton and Mia burst out laughing while Jessica's face turned red.

"W-What did you just call me?" She stuttered with an angry tone.

"Sweetheart," I cooed. Jessica growled, but didn't say anything as she crossed her arms and looked back to the movie. Once the movie got over, Mia and Ashton had to go.

"Bye Jessica!" Ashton exclaimed, "And don't forget that you and Alfred are one of my OTPs!" She laughed as she left through the door. Jessica turned to Mia and glared.

"You better not say ANYTHING!" Jessica yelled. Mia nodded rapidly and waved her hand slightly.

"U-Um...bye guys and again, Happy Birthday Jessica," She muttered as she left. Now it was just me and Jessica again. I looked at her and smiled.

"Hey...you haven't opened my gift yet," I said. Jessica tilted her head in confusion.

"Wait, you got me a gift?" She asked. I nodded as I went into my room to get her present. I went back to the living room and handed her the wrapped gift. She slowly opened the wrapping and stared wide-eyed at what I gave her.

"My own...laptop?" She questions as she smiled.

"Yeah, I remember you complaining about how you wanted your own laptop so yeah...it's a really good one too. I promise," I said. Jessica set the laptop down and hugged me.

"Thank you...thank you so much," she uttered. I smiled and hugged her back.

"No problem," Once we let go of each other, I helped her set up her laptop and she started to play The Sims 4 on it.
