Next day :

Aashish POV :

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm, groaning, "I want to sleep yarr." After turning it off, I quickly got ready and headed to the airport to pick up my parents. As soon as I reached there, I saw them walking towards me, and I couldn't help but run to hug them. It felt so good to see them!

After the hug, I touched my mom's feet to take her blessings. "I really missed you, mom," I said, looking up at her. She smiled and replied, "I too missed you, dear." Just then, my dad teased, "Ohh.. okay, so you missed only your mom, not me, huh?" I laughed and moved towards him, saying, "I missed you the most, dad!" He chuckled and said, "Now come on, stop buttering me and let's go." My mom and I laughed as we headed to the car, and I placed their bags in the dicky, feeling so happy to have them back home.

After putting the bags in the dicky, I suddenly remembered Pooja is at home . She knew my parents were coming back, but she had no idea they were arriving today. I quickly grabbed my phone and typed, "Heyy, my parents are coming to home now , okay?" Almost instantly, she replied, "Okay 👍."

I hopped into the driver's seat and started buckling my seatbelt when my dad asked, "What were you doing?" I replied casually, "Nothing, just messaging my friend." As I started the engine, I felt a mix of excitement and happiness, knowing Pooja would be surprised to see my parents.

As I settled into the driver’s seat, my mom suddenly asked, "Which friend?" I hesitated for a moment, stuttering, "Uh, Karan... yeah, I was texting Karan."

My dad raised an eyebrow and said, "I know you don’t text Karan unless it’s an emergency." I felt caught and couldn't lie anymore, so I admitted, "Okay, okay, I messaged Pooja." I took a right turn, trying to focus on the road.

My mom's curiosity kicked in, "Who is Pooja? Where is she from, and why didn’t you tell me about her, huh?" I just chuckled at her enthusiasm. My dad chimed in, "If you ask all those questions at once, how will he answer? Aashish, tell us about Pooja."

I took a breath and said, "Actually, she’s Karan’s sister, and she’s living in our house until she completes her college. I hope you don’t mind her staying with us."

"Ohh... okay! I know Karan has a sister, but I’ve never seen her. Now I can finally meet her!" my mom clapped her hands, clearly excited.

My dad added, "We don’t have any problem with her staying in our house. When did she come? You didn’t tell us."

I replied, "I thought of telling you both, but I didn’t know what reaction you’d have, especially since it’s a girl staying with us. She came last week, and Karan messaged me to pick her up from the airport."

I could see my parents processing the news, and I felt relieved that they were okay with it.

As we drove, my mom suddenly asked, "Is she pretty?" I froze for a second, unable to process what she just said. "What did you say, Mom? I didn’t hear you properly," I stammered, trying to buy some time.
