As I made it out of the house and saw Julian leaning against the car, his gaze softening when he spotted me.
As I reached him, he opened the car door, studying my face as I settled into the seat.
"What happened?" he asked gently, his voice full of concern.
I swallowed, trying to push down the lump in my throat. "Nothing," I said quietly, glancing down at the bag in my lap. "Just... got my stuff and left."
He seemed to study me for a moment, as if he could see straight through to what I wasn't saying, but he just nodded. "Alright, well, let's head back. You can pack up your things, and then we're all set to go."
I raised an eyebrow, turning to him as he started the engine. "How did you manage to book tickets so fast?"
He smirked, glancing at me from the corner of his eye. "I didn't. We're taking Matteo's jet."
My mouth fell open. "Matteo's jet?"
"Yeah," he shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. "Perks of having a best friend with a jet."
I couldn't help the small laugh that escaped. Only Julian could casually pull off something like this without a second thought. "Guess I'm in good hands, then."
"You always are," he murmured, and a warmth spread through me that felt safe, I could let go of the hurt for a little while and just breathe

As I watch Sabrina carefully pack her things into a carry-on, my phone buzzes in my pocket. I glance at the screen, my jaw tightening when I see Camilla's name flashing.
Sabrina notices and I murmur, "One sec, I need to take this."
Stepping out of the room, I answer. "Camilla, what do you want?"
Her voice is soft, a rare vulnerability showing through. "Julian... I need you."
I almost say no. After everything she's done with Sabrina, I know she doesn't deserve any more of my patience.
But despite it all, there's still this stupid, stubborn soft spot I have for her. I sigh, trying to keep my frustration in check. "Where are you?"
She gives me an address, and I run a hand through my hair, weighing it out. "Alright, I'll be there soon."
