chapter 4

It still hasn't sunk in that Cara was going to be attending Hogwarts. It all felt like a dream. Like she was going to wake up from a wonderful dream into the nightmare that's real life, she didn't want that.

She went back to the compartment and sat next to Michael.

"Are you guys going to keep making music while we're here?" asked Cara curiously. She knew how much music meant to them, he didn't want them to stop making music.

"We don't know. I mean we brought our guitars, but Ashton doesn't have his drums. Drums are important when making music," replied Calum. That kinda bummed Cara, music was their everything.

"But Ashton and I have been writing a song, and it's not finished yet it but it kinda sets a new image for us as band. We don't want to be that band that just goes with everything else and this song could be our big break," Michael joined the conversation. "The title is She's Kinda Hot, which is a bit misleading but it's-"

"Hey we're stopping!" Luke cut off Michael as he looked out the window to see that they've arrived.

"Guess we should head out now. Oh and Michael?" Michael looked up. "I can't wait to listen to your new song. I know it's going to be great." Michael smiled at his sister.

They all got off and if it wasn't for her protective older brother, Cara would've gotten trampled on by the students. They didn't exactly know where to go. Should they go with the first years or with the fifth and sixth years?

"Um excuse me," Cara asked the undeniably large figure that was a couple feet in front of her. The figure turned around and she recognized him as Hagrid. "This is our first year here and we don't know where to go."

"Ah yes, Dumbledore told me that you will be arriving," smiled Hagrid. "You'll have to go with the first years to get sorted int your house. Just follow me." Hagrid led the group to an area where there were boats.

"Four to a boat and no more!"

Michael, Cara, Luke and Calum all got on one boat while Ashton got on a separate one with some first years.

Soon enough they were getting off the boats and entered the big building that would be a home to the five of them. After Proffesor McGonagall explained to them what was going to happen when they stepped into the great hall, they were lead into the room that held the students. As they passed, Cara recognized the Golden Trio and many other characters of the famous book series. She was ecstatic.

After the first years got sorted, Dumbledore stood up to speak.

"As you can see, we have some new students who will be in fifth year and sixth hear. So I want you all to give them a warm welcome to Hogwarts." Everyone clapped and awaited for them to get sorted.

"Clifford, Cara." Ok don't freak out, she kept repeating to herself as she went up to the stool and sat down.

"Ah yes! We've got a Clifford!" The hat exclaimed which made Cara jump a bit, causing a few giggles to break out from the great hall. "You've got some loyalty in you and a great thirst for knowledge. Hmm not very brave are you? Where to put you? Hmm how about....RAVENCLAW!"

Cara quickly hopped off the stool and made to the table that was cheering for her. She smirked to herself, glad that she was put into Ravenclaw.

"Clifford, Michael." Michael went up and sat at the stool. The hat was placed on his head.

"Oh another Clifford. Hmm yes quite ambitious are you? There's no really questioning on where to put you......SLYTHERIN!" Michael got up and headed towards the Slytherin table. Cara giggled to herself, Michael had green hair and he was in the house of Slytherin.

"Hemmings, Luke." Luke nervously walked up and sat down.

"Quite musical aren't you? Also quite smart hmm I sense some bravery in you......RAVENCLAW!" Luke sighed in relief and headed towards Cara. She reached up to high five him, at least she wouldn't be alone when it's time for lunch.

"Hood, Calum." Calum looked like a lost puppy as he went up to the stool.

"Ah yes Mr. Hood very brave. Ambitious? Yes, but your bravery overpowers it......GRYFFONDOR!" Calum headed towards the table he guessed was Gryffondor, since they were cheering for him.

"Irwin, Ashton"

"There's no thought on where to put you......GRYFFONDOR!" Ashton got up and went to sit next to Calum. Michael was all alone in Slytherin.

"Hi, I'm Luna Lovegood," greeted the blonde that was sitting across from Cara. "Welcome to Hogwarts, but I must tell you, the kids here think I'm a bit insane."

"You're just as sane as I am."
