I sighed deeply and looked around at what in a few minuets was no longer going to be my room. My lavendar walls, the window that overlooked my street, even little marks on my floors from where I dropped things. I was going to miss it all.
"Melissa!" I could hear my mom yelling my name.
"Coming!" I yelled back. It felt wrong to leave my room, it will always be my room. I stepped out into the hallway and closed the door. Running my hand down the rail as I slowly walked down the steps.
"The moving truck is here, we have to get going."
"Alright." I mumbled. My mom was way too excited about this move. After my dad left all she wanted to do was get out of here.
" Are you sure you have everything?"
I just nodded in response and walked out of the front door. I stood on my porch for a moment, looking down the my street. Memories were flooding back and I swear I could feel my chest open up then cave in. Right where I was standing, I had my first kiss when Justin Rand took me out on my first date. At the end of my driveway was where I fell when I was first learning how to skate. I was trying to remember everything, I never wanted to forget.
"You ready Mel?" I didn't realize that my mom was watching me the whole time, or the guys in the moving truck.
"Yeah, I'm ready." I pushed past my mom and made my way to our car, we had a flight to Los Angeles, California we had to catch.
