MELISSA'S POV:
I only had two classes left after lunch. I was dying to get home. I've been getting dirty looks all day and I got caught crying . I'm getting dangerously close to smacking somebody.
I went to my locker, exchanging books. One. More. Class.
I checked my schedule one more time to make sure I had the right room. Yup, Physcis. Luckyily that room was on the bottom floor, which is where my locker was. I started to slowly figure out the way the school was laid out. All the rooms beginning with one were on the first floor and the same with the second. Rooms that began with three or four were in the other building. There was a hallway that lead to a bridge that crossed between the buildings. The bridge was surrounded by windows so you could see outside, it was actually pretty cool. Except for when I was late for third peroid because my second class was in the other building and I had to run back and forth.
I walked into the Physcis room and introduced myself to the teacher, I was getting a little tired of doing this. Just as I was about to turn around and take a seat I ran right into Nick.
"Oh hey ." He said, smiling down at me.
"Hey." I said. Taking a step back from him. I like my personal space.
"You're in this class?" He questioned.
"Yeah, I am." I said softly.
"You uh - can sit with me if you want." He said scratching the back of his head.
I had a feeling that Nick wasn't normally an awkward type of person, he seemed relaxed in gym. I think I was making him uncomfortable. But I didn't really have anyone else to sit with . I thought about it for a minute.
"Well, I'm gonna sit down so ...." Nick trailed off.
"Oh, yeah. I'll sit with you." I replied, following him to the back.
Nick sat down at a table and I sat next to him. After about a half hour I was super bored. I folded my arms and put my head down. I sighed deeply.
"Bored?" Nick said in a hused voice.
I turned my head to face him. "Yeah." I responded.
"What are you doing after school?" He asked.
It actually sparked my interest. If anyone would have asked me to hang out, I would tell them I had plans, but in reality now that my mom was working late I didn't feel like sitting at home by myself.
"Well nothing yet." I whispered back with my eyebrows raised.
"Wanna go get milkshakes? My treat." He said grinning.
I thought it over for a minute, I mean what harm could come from a free milkshake.
"I like milkshakes." I replied.
"Good." He said grinning.
I nodded, and turned back over. I was exhuasted after today. The bell rang eventually even though it felt like forever. When I got up, Nick followed me out the door.
"I have to go to my locker first." I said.
"Okay." Nick said, following me.
Once we reached my locker I tried putting my combination in. Of course it didn't work with Nick standing right here.
"Dammit." I mumbled, trying the combination again.
I heard him laugh, "Watch out." He said, stepping infront of me.
