MELISSA'S POV:
I watched him as he drove. I was trying to figure him out.
Our fingers were still intertwined and I felt at least slightly secure and stable since I moved here.
He looked over at me for a second and smiled.
It seriously took my breath away.
I was caught completely off guard, stuck staring at him like an idiot.
I looked down at my feet and exhaled. I was deep in thought thinking about where my feet have taken me and how I've ended up here, in this guys truck driving to I don't know where. This probably wasn't the smartest idea.
I felt his hand slip from mine and my head snapped up .
"We're here." He said opening his door and jumping out of his truck.
I reached over and unbuckled my seat belt, letting it slip back. We were parked infront of a dirt path. I couldnt' see past the trees.
My car door opened and there he was, looking at me . I let him help me down.
"Where are we?" I asked.
He linked our hands together again and began walking down the path.
I glided along side him, waiting for a response. But I didn't get one.
"Are you going to answer me?" I asked a little frustrated.
"You're not very patient are you?" He asked without stopping or even looking at me.
I stopped abruptly and glared at him, " And you are?" I asked.
He sighed deeply, " Can we just keep walking?" He asked, gesturing towards the road ahead.
"No." I said loudly, " I'm not just going to -"
He rolled his eyes.
He just rolled his eyes at me.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?! I swear -" I yelled.
I was so mad. I was starting to sound like my Mom. I couldn't even finish my sentences.
I turned and started walking away. I didn't know where I was going but I wasn't staying with him.
Of course not after ten seconds he was standing infront of me holding me by my shoulders.
"MOVE!" I yelled.
"No." He said firmly, looking down at me expressionless.
"No, move." I said, side stepping him.
I started walking but he grabbed me by my arm and pulled me back.
" Why are you leaving?" He asked.
"Why am I leaving? " I repeated sarcastically.
He just stared at me like an idiot.
" Cause you're an asshole!" I said, turning to walk away again.
" Will you stop?" He said , jumping infront of me again.
"GO AWAY !" I yelled.
"No." He said dryly. " I can't do that."
I glared up at him, I swear if he was closer to my size I would hit him so hard when he wakes up his clothes would be out of style.
"Why?" I said through gritted teeth.
"Cause I can't." He said, dropping his head.
"You're crazy." I said, shaking my head.
His head snapped up, " I'm not crazy."
"No, you're crazy." I said, continuing down the path.
"Melissa, just stay." He said, trying to hold my hand.
"Why? I don't even know you! You could be bringing me back here to murder me! And I was stupid enough to get in your car!." I screamed.
His face fell, his eyes filled with saddness, and he looked up at me, I felt my heart ache, but I was going to stand my ground.
" I told you, I'm not going to hurt you. Ever." He whispered.
"Oh really? Cause I just watched you throw my friend against the wall and try to kill him! Then you drag me to the nurses office, then you drag me to the lunch room and embarrass me infront of a room full of people who already don't like me!" I screamed.
I was getting exhuasted, and fighting with this weirdo was giving me a headache.
"Who doesn't like you?" He asked, stepping closer to me.
"EVERYONE!" I screamed. " And you just made it worse."
"I was trying to help you!" He yelled.
"I TOLD YOU I DIDN'T NEED YOUR HELP!" I fired back.
He didn't yell back, he didn't moved. Then within seconds he had me wrapped up in his arms looking around defensively.
"What are you doing?!" I shouted, trying to wiggle away from him.
"Shh." He said, holding me tighter.
I followed his eyes, he was watching to trees.
I watched as a dark figured creeped out from the trees.
"What is -" I started
A large wolf came snarling out of the trees, eyeing Jake and I .
I heard a pouding on the ground and looked to see a smaller light brown came charging down the path.
I screamed and hid in Jake's chest.
I felt my legs go weak with fear but at the same time my body was shaking with adrenaline.
I wolf was stalking closer to us, I could hear him growling and snarling.
I felt Jake's chest vibrate and a deep growl erupted . I wasn't exactly sure if it was him, but when I looked up he eyes were black.
"Jake?" I asked, terrified.
He never took his eyes off the wolf. His arms fell from my body, and he looked tense.
"GO." He said sternly.
"Go where?" I asked, half crying.
"With him." He said, tilting his head to the side.
I looked back at where the light brown wolf once stood, now there was a small figure there, fully clothed, looking just as terrified as me.
"Jake I -"
"George, take her. NOW." He ordered.
George came over to me, gentley placing a hand on my arm.
"We have to go." He urged. I felt cold shaking hands on my skin.
"Jake ." I pleaded.
The wolf was staring at Jake intently, and I knew that at that moment Jake was going to die.
"Jake they're everywhere." George warned.
"GET HER OUT OF HERE." He growled, as the wolf charged at Jake.
Geroge lifted me, I don't know how, because he wasn't that much bigger than me. Or maybe I was just used to being next to Jake and all the other freakishly big guys in this town.
"Put me down." I screamed trying to fight off George.
"Please stop." He pleaded, rushing down the path.
I could hear growls and tearing roaring down the path.
I began to cry uncontrollably as George dragged me away.
I knew Jake was gone, I just knew it.
The wolf was huge and there was another one around here somewhere. Jake may be big but he's not an animal. I sobbed all the way back to Jake's truck. Geroge unhitched the truck bed and helped me up. He climbed in behind me. I curled into a ball and sobbed.
