--------------- ELLIES POV -----------------

I woke up and quickly turned off my alarm, grunting and rubbing my eyes as I got up. I sat up on my bed to wake my self up for a second.

'oh fuck the movie'

I had a movie with y/n tonight. She seems sweet. After Santa Barbara and Joel I just felt like no reason to have anyone. But she seemed sweet and she seemed like someone I could open up to.

I hope patrol isn't like what it was yesterday, I almost got shredded to pieces and y/n had to save my ass. I have never seen someone look so scared and angry at the same time. All over killing a stalker. For a bit I saw a look in her face I've only seen from Tommy or Joel. I know she wasn't a killer. She was some sweet girl who wandered up here. With barely any experience she is kinda badass.

I put on a black shirt and some jeans before quickly throwing my jacket on and packing my backpack.

Maria talked to me yesterday, she told me about how she saw me and y/n hanging out. And how it's a good chance for me to get out of my shell. Maria told me how she is sweet, and hard working. How she also had a rough past.

Maria has only brought that up one other time, I didn't dare to ask because I know she wouldn't say, even if she did I have no business knowing.

I walk to the horses before y/n smiles at me. A casual friendly smile. She was so friendly with me. Why? I mean I barely put any effort but she is so consistent.

I smile back and get my horse ready. She throws on her jacket before looking down at herself for a second. she didn't notice I was observing. I noticed yesterday during patrol she saw herself in the mirror after she took her jacket off. I caught her staring still noticing the mirror 15 feet away from her. It was slightly cracked and heavily rusted but I could see the smile on her face disappear, the smile that she always has on her face.

Me and her head on to patrol, today it's just the usual. Clear some infected by Jackson. I was thinking about Joel,  and what he did for me on my 15th birthday. How that day was the best day of my life before I heard y/n speak.

"Hey uh there's a runner right there"

I shifted my focus to a clicker who started sprinting towards us and the horses. I quickly shot it twice before looking around checking to see if more were nearby.

"Thanks" I say catching my breath.

We make it to the mountains, where i shot Tommy's rifle. We soon go down the mountain and up into some abandoned buildings. Me and y/n clear all the infected before heading back.

I take the harness of my horse as y/n leans against her horses fence crossing her arms.

"What time is movie night?" She says uncrossing her arms.

"Uhh we can do it around 7 is that good? I got other duties to do around town today"

"Okay Ms business, where is your place at?"

"Behind Joel's, it's the shed"

"Gotcha"

We head back to our places. I tidy up my place before taking a nap and setting an alarm. I had to help Maria do work soon but I wanted to get some sleep in. 

--------------- Y/NS POV ------------------

I head back home and draw. I had nothing else to do besides the fact I had movie night with Ellie.

I have never seen a movie before. When we were with the fireflies we never had electricity or anything like that. We never had that at the town either. I was excited but nervous. I don't know why but I felt my stomach grow nauseous. I haven't had anxiety about hanging out with someone since I was with my parents.

I smoked a joint and began playing on the Nintendo. I wanted Nova to hangout with me. I missed Nova but she was slowly distancing her self away. And right now everybody was at lunch. Including her and her friends. Me and her had patrol tomorrow so I planned on talking to her. I'm glad she met new friends it just seems like she forgot about me.

After a few rounds of mario I walk up to dinas place. Knocking three times and waiting before she opens the door.

"What's up?" She's holding JJ and he smiles at me before waving.

"I wanted to see if I could hangout with you and Jj for a bit before I have to go to Ellie's"

"Oh?" Dina says

"It's not like that! Me and her have been getting along she needed a friend"

"Come inside and tell me more"

I sit on the couch before turning to her

"Are you still not over her?"

"I am over her y/n, I just wanted to know how you and Ellie became friends. I glad she found someone."

" I started chatting her ear off on patrols, we went back to mine for a smoke, began having lunch together because nova and her new friends group were sitting at her table, and now we are having a movie night!" 

"Ahh I see- wait- Nova is still constantly with that friend group?"

Even Dina noticed. They constantly took walks together, had snowball fights did stuff I never got to do with her. I would ask her to do stuff like that but she would just complain that it's too cold or she isn't an outside person. But now its all she does, sit outside and be "not an outside person"

"Yeah they hangout all day everyday, me and Nova barely even speak anymore."

"Soon she will realize we are the better ones don't worry"

"I hope so"

After hanging out with jj and Dina I hug JJ and Dina goodbye before leaving to get ready for ellies.

I changed my clothes from patrol and I put my hair back up. I put on a black baggy shirt and some pajama pants.

'7:45'

'7:50'

I watched the clock change to 7:52 before leaving. I head for ellies place and knock on the door.

She opens it,before noticing it was me and opening up the door more welcoming me in.

I looked around her shed, noticing how she had posters on different parts of her wall.  I noticed a small blue and red robot toy.

"So.. what kind of movies do you wanna watch?" Ellie looks up at me.

"Uhh I have no idea what you have?"

She shows me the options of movies I can't help but to look at her hands, how she held things as her tattoo peeked through. God I felt like I was dreaming..I'm so gullible.

"I'm gonna be honest this is the first time I've ever watched a movie, what's your favorite?"

She points to a horror movie before she puts it in her tv and we sit down.

"Sorry I don't have popcorn"

I laugh, "it's fine don't worry , all I brought is a joint if you want some"

"I'll be good, I don't wanna make it a habit , but thank you" I nod before turning to the movie.

We watched the movie, nothing more. After the movie we chatted for a bit before I headed home and we said our goodbyes. As soon as I left I missed her presence. Something about her was so comforting. I couldn't help it.
