i want to brainwash you into loving me forever

i want to brainwash you into loving me forever,
and you'll say that there's no need 
to do something like that,
since you'll love me forever anyway,
but i don't believe you,
it's just a matter of time,
til you wake up and realise,
what a terrible person i am.
for now you're too lovesick,
you have the famous pink glasses on,
but i know that state isn't forever,
it lasts around three years they say,
before it goes away.
and then you'll see me,
the way i see myself.
so until then,
i need to find a way to brainwash you,
or your love will fade away.
