Y/N's eyes narrowed as the beast lunged toward their group, its massive claws slashing through the air. She immediately summoned a strong gust of wind, pushing the creature back for a moment, giving them a few precious seconds to regroup.
"We need a plan, now!" she yelled, her voice cutting through the tension in the air.
Bakugo's hands crackled with explosive energy as he glared at the beast. "Leave the plan to me. I'll blow it to pieces!"
"Wait!" Y/N called out, her heart racing as she recognized the ferocity in the creature's eyes. "We don't know what's inside the forest. If we go all out and make too much noise, we might attract more of them. We need to be smart."
"Smart?!" Bakugo snapped, irritation flashing in his eyes. "You're telling me to play it safe with this thing?!" He growled, his fists clenched. "That thing's gonna regret picking a fight with us."
"Bakugo, please!" Y/N's voice rose in urgency. She knew he was capable of handling the situation, but if they weren't careful, things could go south. "We need to work together."
Kaminari, who was standing nearby with a slightly nervous expression, jumped in. "Y/N's right! We need to keep our distance, not get too reckless. Let's set up a trap or something."
"Fine," Bakugo growled, still not thrilled by the idea of holding back, but he reluctantly agreed. "Let's do it your way, but if that thing gets too close, I'm blowing it to hell."
"Deal," Y/N said with a nod.
Kirishima stepped forward, flashing a confident grin. "I've got an idea. I'll keep it busy—let's lure it toward the trap."
"Perfect," Y/N agreed, feeling a sense of unity among the group. "Everyone, stay sharp. We've got this."
Kirishima grinned, his quirk activating as his body became hardened and jagged. "I'll take it head-on. Get ready!"
With that, Kirishima charged toward the beast, his hardened body a shield against the creature's attacks. The beast growled, its fangs glistening as it pounced toward him. Kirishima dodged its first swipe, grinning all the while, but Y/N could see his muscles straining under the pressure.
"Get ready!" Y/N shouted, waving her hand to prepare her wind-based quirk. She could feel the energy swirling around her as she summoned a powerful gust to push the creature's focus away from Kirishima.
The beast staggered as the wind hit it, but it quickly regained its footing, roaring in anger. That was when Kaminari stepped in, his electric current sparking to life as he released a series of quick, controlled shocks that zapped the creature's back, causing it to stumble.
"Gotcha!" Kaminari grinned, but the beast quickly retaliated, turning its gaze on him. Y/N knew they had to act quickly—if they didn't take it down now, it would turn the tide on them.
"Bakugo!" Y/N called, feeling the air thrum with tension. "Now!"
Bakugo, with his hands glowing bright with explosive energy, wasted no time. He launched himself forward, his explosions propelling him with immense speed. "Die, you bastard!"
His explosion-filled attack caught the creature off-guard, throwing it into the trees behind it. It let out a horrific screech, but Bakugo wasn't finished. He released another barrage of blasts, one after another, blasting the creature into the ground with devastating force.
"Yeah! How's that feel, you damn beast!" Bakugo shouted, his voice filled with adrenaline and excitement. The creature was down—but not out.
"Hold on," Y/N warned, her senses alert. "It's not over. We still need to get that flag and finish the course."
But before anyone could react, the beast let out a final roar, its body twitching before going still.
Kaminari wiped his brow. "We did it. That was close though!"
"That's one down," Kirishima grinned, brushing himself off. "Let's keep moving. We're on a time limit."
The forest challenge wasn't over, and the team had to push forward, keeping their wits about them. The next few hours were filled with dangers—sharp rocks, wild animals, and deadly traps—but with teamwork, they overcame them. Y/N could feel herself growing stronger, her quirk becoming even more fine-tuned as she learned to control the gusts of wind more efficiently.
Bakugo remained on edge, but he was growing more accustomed to working with the group—though, he still refused to show it. As they neared the final area of the challenge, they saw it: the flag, hanging from a tall tree near a cliffside.
"We're almost there," Y/N said, her voice determined.
But just as they thought the challenge was near its end, the last obstacle reared its ugly head. A massive creature, even larger than the first, stood between them and the flag. Its eyes glowed red, and it snarled as it eyed the group hungrily.
"This is going to be bad..." Kaminari whispered, visibly sweating.
"You think?" Bakugo snapped, stepping forward. "Get ready!"
Before Y/N could stop him, Bakugo unleashed an explosion that sent a shockwave toward the creature. The beast roared, charging at them, its claws extended to strike. Y/N was ready, wind already swirling around her as she prepared to block the attack.
"Bakugo!" Y/N yelled, summoning a fierce gust to throw the creature back. "We need to think this through—!"
But before she could finish her sentence, Bakugo jumped into the air with another powerful explosion, colliding directly with the creature's chest. The force of the blast sent it flying back, but it wasn't enough to take it down completely.
Y/N's heart raced. This thing's not going down that easily!
"Damn it!" Bakugo cursed, landing back on the ground and glaring at the creature. "I don't care if it's big—I'll take it down."
"I'm helping!" Y/N shouted, gathering all her focus. "Everyone, get ready!"
The group rallied together, their combined efforts focused on bringing the creature down and claiming the flag. With one final burst of wind from Y/N, combined with Bakugo's devastating explosions, and the support of the others, the beast was finally defeated.
As the creature crumpled to the ground, the flag hung limply from the tree. With one final effort, Y/N rushed forward, using a gust of wind to help her jump up and grab it from the branches.
"We did it!" Y/N cheered, holding up the flag triumphantly.
The group gathered around her, their faces beaming with relief and victory. They'd made it through the forest challenge and had emerged victorious, thanks to teamwork and sheer determination.
As they made their way back to the camp, the Pussycat Heroes were waiting for them, impressed by their skills and teamwork.
"Well done, everyone!" Mandalay said, smiling broadly. "You've proven yourselves in the forest, but this was only the beginning. We'll see how you handle the next challenges."
Y/N caught Bakugo's eye for a moment, and although he didn't show it, she knew that he was proud of their success.
And as the group made their way back to camp, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The first real challenge was over, and they had passed it together. There was no turning back now—the training camp was just beginning.
