Part2: Training Intensifies
The next morning came quicker than Y/N had expected, the camp's dense forest wrapped in a thick morning mist that slowly began to clear as the sun climbed higher. The group of students gathered in the open clearing once again, all looking slightly worn from yesterday's trials. The day before had been intense—pushing their bodies to the limit, but it was only the beginning of what Pussycat had planned.
"Alright, listen up!" Mandalay called out from the front, her voice cutting through the murmurs of the students. "Today we're stepping it up. Get ready for a series of combat training exercises. These will test not only your physical endurance but also how well you can work as a team under pressure."
Y/N stretched, yawning slightly. She had spent the night thinking about everything—the trials, the camp, and of course, Bakugo. She was determined to focus on her training this morning, but part of her knew that she couldn't ignore the tension between them forever. Bakugo's coldness was starting to weigh on her, and even if she tried not to think about it, the knot in her stomach remained.
"Teams will be divided based on your performance yesterday," Mandalay continued, her voice stern and professional. "You'll be put through various combat scenarios against the Pussycat team, and this time, you're not just facing obstacles. You'll be facing real opposition."
Y/N felt her heart rate pick up. Real opposition. That meant this wasn't just about surviving a course anymore—it was about putting everything they had learned to the test.
The group of students exchanged anxious glances, but no one said anything. Everyone knew how serious this was.
"Alright," Ragdoll added, stepping up beside Mandalay. "We'll be your opponents today. You'll need to work together if you want to win. Remember—this isn't about who's the strongest. It's about strategy, teamwork, and making smart decisions in the heat of the moment."
"Sounds like a challenge," Kaminari grinned, already excited. He was the type to find the thrill in any situation, no matter how dangerous.
Y/N felt a little more at ease seeing some of the others looking forward to the challenge. She had her doubts, but she knew she couldn't back down now. She had to focus on the task ahead—regardless of the fact that Bakugo was still barely acknowledging her existence.
"Alright, let's get this started," Mandalay announced, leading them towards their first training ground.
Y/N's team was lined up with Mina, Kaminari, and Kirishima, each of them standing next to one another in preparation for the first round of combat training. As the Pussycat team members gave them a rundown of the rules and tactics, Y/N found herself glancing around the clearing.
Her eyes immediately found Bakugo, who stood with his usual intense scowl on his face. He wasn't looking at her—not that she expected him to, but it still stung. She didn't even know why she was hoping he would. All he ever seemed to care about was winning, proving himself, and pushing everyone else aside.
The whistle blew, signaling the start of their first round. Y/N shook herself out of her thoughts and took her position, standing by Mina and Kirishima. The training would begin in earnest now.
The first part of the training was a group battle against Cheetah and Tiger. Their goal was to subdue the heroes, but it wasn't a simple one-on-one fight—it was a test of teamwork, and their opponents were much more experienced than they were.
"Alright, let's do this!" Y/N said, trying to sound more confident than she felt.
Mina grinned and gave her a thumbs up. "We got this, girl!"
