Author's pov

The day of the concert dawned bright and clear, but for Y/N, the sunlight streaming through her window felt like a warning.

She had been looking forward to this day, the excitement buzzing in the air as she and Durva prepared for the event.

BTS was going to perform, and she couldn’t wait to see her son’s face light up when they took the stage.

But in the back of her mind, a nagging feeling of dread lingered—Ajay was out there, lurking like a shadow, ready to pounce.

As she busied herself in the kitchen, making breakfast for Durva, her phone vibrated on the countertop, shattering the momentary peace.

The name on the screen made her stomach drop.

Ajay.

Y/N hesitated, her heart racing.

She knew she shouldn’t answer, but she felt an overwhelming compulsion to see what he wanted.

With a shaky breath, she picked up the phone.

“Y/N,” Ajay’s voice was smooth, almost too calm, sending a chill down her spine.

“I see you’ve been keeping yourself busy.”

“Why are you calling?” she asked, trying to keep her voice steady despite the rising tide of anxiety within her.

“What do you want?”

“I wanted to congratulate you on your little concert outing today,” he replied, the faux cheerfulness grating against her nerves.

“But I’m afraid it’s the last bit of happiness you’ll experience for a while.”

“What are you talking about?” Panic seeped into her voice as she tried to maintain control.

“You can’t just threaten me like this.”

“Threaten? I’m simply stating facts,” he said, his tone dropping to a cold, menacing whisper.

“You think you can escape me? You’ve created a lovely little life for yourself in Korea, but I know everything. I see who you’re with, and I don’t like it.”

“Ajay, please,” Y/N pleaded, feeling tears prick at her eyes.

“Don’t do this. I left you for a reason. You need to understand that.”

“You left me? You think you can just walk away? I’ll make sure you regret this,” he hissed, his voice filled with venom.

“Today will be the end of your happiness, Y/N. I promise you that.”

Before she could respond, he hung up, leaving her in a stunned silence.

The reality of his words sunk in, and a wave of despair crashed over her.

She was determined to protect Durva and create a life free from his abuse, but the threat Ajay posed felt more real than ever.

With trembling hands, Y/N placed her phone down and tried to shake off the fear that gripped her.

Taemin would be up soon, excited about the concert, and she couldn’t let her worries overshadow his happiness.

But in her heart, she knew that Ajay wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted.

Moments later, Durva bounded into the kitchen, his face radiant with excitement.

“Mom! Is today the day? Are we really going to see BTS?”

Y/N forced a smile, wrapping her arms around him and pulling him close. “Yes, sweetheart. Today is the day. We’re going to have an amazing time, I promise.”

As they sat down for breakfast, Y/N’s mind raced. Could she truly shield Taemin from the storm that was about to hit?

She resolved to stay strong, to put on a brave face for him, but deep down, she could feel the weight of Ajay’s threats hanging over them like a dark cloud.

After breakfast, they got ready, and Y/N tried to focus on the excitement bubbling in Taemin’s eyes.

She had to keep him safe. She had to protect him.

Later, as they stood in line outside the concert venue, the energy of the crowd around them pulsed like a living entity.

Fans were wearing BTS merchandise, faces painted with excitement, but Y/N felt the knot in her stomach tighten.

Ajay’s call replayed in her mind, each word echoing ominously.

“Today is the end of your happiness.”

As they entered the venue, the roar of the crowd enveloped them, but Y/N’s heart raced for another reason.

She kept her eyes peeled for any sign of trouble, aware that Ajay could be anywhere. She would enjoy the concert for Durva, but the underlying fear threatened to spoil what was supposed to be a night of joy.

Once they found their seats, Durva practically bounced with anticipation. “Mom, look! We’re so close!” His eyes sparkled, and for a moment, Y/N felt a rush of joy.

“Yes, we are, buddy,” she said, trying to mirror his enthusiasm.

As the lights dimmed and the crowd erupted in cheers, Y/N took a deep breath, reminding herself to stay present.

For Durva, for their future, she would fight back against the shadows of her past.

She would not let Ajay take this moment from her.

But as the first notes of the concert filled the air and the members of BTS stepped onto the stage, Y/N’s heart raced with a different kind of fear.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that Ajay was watching, lurking just out of sight, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

And as she watched Durva scream with joy, she felt a terrifying sense of foreboding wash over her, knowing that the battle for their happiness was far from over.

Time skip

The concert had reached its peak.

Y/N and Durva were fully immersed in the electrifying energy of the crowd, swept up in the collective joy that filled the air.

Durva’s eyes shone with excitement as he cheered for his idols, oblivious to anything but the performance on stage.

But as Y/N gazed at the BTS members, she suddenly noticed something strange—a faint red dot hovering on Jin's chest.

Her heart stopped, and she blinked, thinking it might just be a trick of the stage lights.

But then she saw it again, and this time, there were multiple dots, moving across the stage, targeting the members one by one.

Her blood ran cold.

Those weren’t reflections.

They were laser sights.
