Moving Forward

It had been a couple weeks since the extermination, and you recovered well from your injuries. You now had a scar on the bridge of your nose and on your hand, but other than that, you were okay.

You were currently sitting in the lobby of the Hotel watching the news on the couch. Everyone in Hell was still surprised a human faught in the extermination, your face was all over the news. You couldn't help but feel a bit popular.

While you were watching the news, Lucifer was standing in the background nervously watching you as he tapped his cane on the ground, biting down on his bottom lip. Charlie and Vaggie had just walked into the Hotel and saw Lucifer watching you from a distance, which caused Charlie's curiosity to come to life. She walked over towards him with a bright smile.

"What you doing, dad?"

Charlie asked innocently which made Lucifer jump a bit, his hat slightly falling over to cover his face. He quickly pulled his hat up and faced Charlie, a nervous smile on his face.

"Oh— hey Char Char! I-I wasn't doing anything! I was just um— a-admiring the new Hotel.. yeah that's it! It is much nicer now."

Lucifer said in between his nervous laughter, adjusting his coat a bit as he cleared his throat, pulling on his shirt a bit as he looked away. Charlie just smiled as she listened to him ramble, raising her eye brow slightly at him.

"Well to me it looked like you were staring at Y/N."

Charlie said which made Lucifer even more nervous, his cheeks lightly reddening up as he laughed nervously, looking back at Charlie.

"W-What? No no no no I-I wasn't staring at her! I-I was admiring the Hotel is all! T-That would be weird if I was staring at her!"

Lucifer explained quickly as his grip tightened around his cane, looking down at the ground for a moment as his hat feel to cover his face, causing him to sigh softly. Charlie noticed his shift in behavior as her smile softened, gently lifting his hat up to move away from his face.

"Dad.. I can see the way you look and act around her.. why don't you just.. ask her out?"

Charlie asks with a smile as her gaze moves over to look towards you innocently watching the news, laughing every now and then at the jokes. Lucifer followed her gaze and looked over at you, his eyes softening a bit.

"I.. I-I don't know, Charlie.. I mean— I-I haven't exactly been on a date since.. well.. you know."

Lucifer starts to say as he looks back at Charlie, a nervous look in his eyes as he sighs out, leaning on his cane as he looks to the ground.

"I don't even know if I'm ready to give it another try.. I know I like her and I have a feeling she likes me too but I just don't wanna mess anything up. Anything could go wrong and I'm just scared that—"

"No more stalling dad. You just need to go out there and ask her out! You never know until you try!"

Charlie said happily before pushing Lucifer over towards you, Lucifer yelping with surprise as he stumbled over towards you. Vaggie walked up beside Charlie as she pushed Lucifer, looking towards Charlie with an eye brow raise.

"What you do that for?"

Vaggie asked in which Charlie just smiled and looked towards Vaggie with a bright and happy expression before looking back at Lucifer as he approached you.

"He just needed a little push, you know?"

Charlie questioned as she put her hands behind her back while Vaggie put her hands on her hips, looking at you and Lucifer. Lucifer fixed his appearance as he walked up to you, clearing his throat a bit to get your attention.
