"Michael."
"Michael."
"Michael wake up. I'm scared."
He couldn't speak. It was like his mouth was glued shut. He wanted to scream. He wanted to call out to the person. But he couldn't. He could see the man only feet away from him. He tried walking. His feet were being held down.
"Michael help me."
He tried and tried to break free of whatever was holding him back. He heard the man screaming, but it was soon drowned out by a faint beeping. It wasn't slow, it was rapid. It grew louder each second he stood there. Powerless and tired from fighting. The man he saw was now fading into a bright light. The beeping continued. It was endless.
Silence poured into the room. Tears rolled down his cheeks and fell to the cold floor beneath him.
The beeping began again, and he fought with all the force he could.
And screamed.
