EXPLORING WATTPAD: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE HILARIOUS
——•⁕•——
Wattpad. That's the title for today's episode. Why? Because today we're diving deep into everything Wattpad—the good, the bad, and mostly the good (since I threw a bit of shade in the last two episodes). Time to show some love!
Starting my journey on Wattpad was like stepping into a whole new world. I began with fanfics on YouTube, moved on to Instagram, and finally found myself on Wattpad—and I haven't looked back since! The idea of reading about fictional people and their made-up romances? Kind of weird at first. But here I am, completely hooked.
What about you? What was your first Wattpad experience?
Wattpad has been a huge support for writers who want to share their work with the world. It's an amazing platform! And for readers like me? It rekindled my love for reading. People say reading is supposed to calm your mind, but let's be real—when have romance books ever been calming? I'm over here squealing like a girl who just made eye contact with her crush for the first time... all over two fictional people holding hands after 50 chapters of buildup.
And let's not even get started on mystery thrillers! My brain is never at peace reading those—I'm constantly guessing the next big twist.
Oh, and the friendships I've found on Wattpad? Priceless. I never imagined feeling so connected to people I've never met. Shoutout to Apeace_18 and Harshitasah09—you two have heard every little pet peeve I've ever had with Wattpad stories (and still stick around!).
Then there are the authors themselves. Never thought I'd get to chat with the writers behind my favourite books, and honestly, when they read this blog? I was over the moon.
And it's not just the people I've met through Wattpad. I even got a few friends hooked on it! In my tiny "friend circle" (okay, it might actually be a heptagon), Abbbb1234 and haghaysvsvsvshhsb (knew Wattpad existed but had no clue I was such a fan. Their faces when they found out? Priceless!
We got so into it that even our friend Starliight_246 joined in—and now, a year later, she's devoured nearly 100 books! I'll totally take credit for that.
So, that's a little glimpse into my Wattpad journey so far. Tell me about your Wattpad journey!
Let's talk tropes!
Starting with the arranged marriage trope—honestly, I've found some of the most intriguing stories here, the kind that makes you almost wish for an arranged marriage yourself. But I've also stumbled across ones that feel straight out of a Star Plus serial. Some of them even remind me of Gopi and Aham 2.0. (Who remembers that duo?)
