Author's Note : Is Damon being too OC?
~*~
"Your girlfriend is just as bad as Katherine." Damon seethed into his phone. He and Love were both still at the Gilbert's residence. Love was enjoying her time playing Black ops and not black cops like she thought it was called originally, Jeremy sat beside her on his bedroom floor complaining about 'campers'. Damon had no idea what the fuck he meant, he didn't see a single fuckin' tent on the screen.
"Don't talk about Elena that way." Stefan spat back with just as much animosity at the thought of his girlfriend being compared to his ex. Which Damon thought was hilarious considering she was a spitting image of her.
"She sent me, with Love, to her house while Elijah was there. If you didn't know, I killed that guy before." Damon paced on the other side of Jeremy's room, hand flexing at his side to resist the urge to snap Jeremy's neck in some sort of retaliation towards Elena.
"She didn't know, Damon." Stefan stressed, which was met with Damon's scoff of disbelief.
"Well now she does, and the message has been delivered, Steffie. He still thinks I'm in cahoots with you, and you both just fucked your deal! Know what that means for me? I'm fair game! Love is too now, thank you so much!" Damon tried to whisper yell to not alert Love of his little burst of emotion. She hadn't seen the 'bad' side of Damon, and he preferred it that way. He didn't want her to be afraid of him.
Stefan knew exactly why Damon was reacting the way he was. He'd truly done his best to avoid the supernatural drama, to keep Love out of it. And because of Elena, he walked right into it unprepared. Stefan felt bad, sure. But it wasn't his fault, nor was it in his control. He liked Love, he did. She was sweet, she always left him a piece of candy by the sink after she figured it was him that did her dishes and not Damon. She always reminded Damon to ask Stefan if he wanted to join them. Or if he was even home. Even though he didn't speak much to her, she still sought out his presence and that... that was nice.
"What do you want me to do, Damon? Turn back time? Put Elena in time out?"
"Yes! Yes! Time out would be great! Maybe then she wouldn't constantly try to find ways to get herself and others killed!" Damon sneered out, catching the attention of Love who'd just lost another round to Jeremy in the free for all section of the game.
"Who are we talking about?" Love whispered urgently, crawling over to where Damon was pacing to sit on his feet and halt his pacing. Damon sputtered, raising a finger as a 'give me a second' to which she nodded once, wrapping her arms around his legs to keep him still. He didn't complain, but definitely bit back a cackle once he realized what she'd done.
"You do know that Klaus is in Mystic Falls... Right?" Stefan questioned slowly, trying not to tick his brother off even more than he was.
"Excuse me?" This time, Damon had gotten eerily calm. And he narrowed his eyes to stare in front of himself, eyes sparkling with what Love could only describe as murderous intent.
"Well, we know he's here. We just don't know where exactly... Or what he looks like." Stefan deadpanned. He knew exactly how bad the situation sounded. They were going up stream on shit creek.
"Stefan..."
"I know how this sounds. But we were all going to have a meeting tomorrow to go over plans. You can come so you aren't out of the loop. Don't come down without Love, she makes you reasonable." The last part was more of a demand that made Damon click his teeth. He wasn't wrong.
"Fine, fuck you." Damon threw in with some hostility, it wasn't even for Stefan but it had to go somewhere before he hung up. Stefan didn't even get to get another word in when Damon hung up either, which had him mentally smirking.
