Ruth and John waited in the kitchen.
Pancakes, eggs and fresh fruit filled the table.
"Morning!" Ruth exclaimed.

"Morning," they chimed.
John smiled.
"Today's special," John said. "Caleb's birthday!"
Brianna's eyes widened.
"Happy birthday!" Brianna exclaimed.
Caleb blushed.
"I forgot," Caleb said, laughing.
After breakfast, Brianna led Caleb upstairs.
A candlelit room awaited.

"Noah!" Caleb exclaimed.

"Noah! What are you doing here?" Caleb asked.
Noah chuckled.
"Surprise!" Noah said.
Caleb beamed.
"Best birthday surprise!" Caleb exclaimed.
Noah and Caleb embraced.
Laughter filled the air.
Memories flooded back.
Caleb's heart swelled.
"You're still the same," Noah said.
Caleb smiled.
"Some things change," Caleb said. "But friendship remains."
Brianna joined them.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, they sat together.
A campfire roared under the sounds of voices.
Stories flowed.
Laughter echoed.
Caleb's birthday became unforgettable.
As they sat down for dinner, Ruth smiled.
"Noah's staying with us for a couple months," Ruth announced.
"He's lending a hand around the farm," John added.
Caleb's eyes lit up.
"That's amazing!" Caleb exclaimed.
Noah grinned.
"Looking forward to it!" Noah said. "Have a lot of experience i'd like to get in"
As Caleb lay beside Brianna, he whispered:
"Best birthday ever."
Brianna's voice trembled.

Caleb's grin spread.
"Really?" Caleb teased.
Brianna's eyes sparkled.
"Yes!" Brianna replied.
Caleb's fingers danced across Brianna's belly.
Brianna giggled.
"Stop!" Brianna laughed.
Caleb chuckled.
"Can't handle it?" Caleb teased.
Brianna's hands found Caleb's sides.
Caleb burst into laughter.
"Okay, okay!" Caleb surrendered.
As they caught their breath, Caleb's lips met Brianna's.
Their kiss deepened.
