Brianna's peaceful morning was shattered by an unsettling phone call.
"Hello?" Brianna answered.
A chilling voice spoke.
"Brianna, you'll pay for leaving me. I have the money! I have it all!"Jason, her ex-fiancé, threatened.
Brianna's heart raced.
"Jason, leave me alone," Brianna demanded.
Jason's laughter sent shivers down her spine.
"We'll meet again soon," Jason promised.
Unbeknownst to Brianna, Jason had received a mysterious call from her mother, Regina.
"Eliminate Brianna," Regina ordered coldly. "She's disgraced our family. I didn't raise her to beg from hillbillies."
Jason's hesitation dissipated.
Regina's words ignited his anger. He accepted the deadly task.
Jason arrived at the farm, blending in.
John had posted an advertisement about needing help on the farm. Jason saw the perfect opportunity.
Noah welcomed him.
"Hey, I'm Noah."
"I'm Jake," Jason lied.
Caleb sensed unease but couldn't pinpoint why.
Brianna remained oblivious.
Jason joined Noah and Caleb for farm work.
"Need help?" Jason asked.
Noah nodded.
"Appreciate it."
As they worked, Jason gained Noah and Caleb's trust.
"Thanks, Jake," Caleb said.
"You're a natural," Noah added.
Jason smiled.
"Grew up on a ranch," Jason said casually. "Dad was a rancher. Learned from him."
Noah's eyes lit up."
No way! What happened?"
Jason's lies flowed effortlessly.
"Sold the ranch after Dad passed. Been drifting since."
Caleb nodded.
"Sorry, man."
Jason shrugged.
"Life goes on."
One night after the daily farm chores had been completed, Jason approached Caleb.
"Let's talk," Jason said, his tone laced with malice.
Caleb followed.
In the darkness, Jason revealed his true self.
"You're just a temporary distraction," Jason sneered. "Brianna will come back to me."
Caleb's instincts flared.
"Leave now," Caleb warned.
Jason smiled.
"Too late," Jason whispered.
Brianna walked into the barn, finding Jason.
His eyes locked onto hers.
"Jason?" Brianna exclaimed.
"You're mine," Jason growled.
"Get away from her!" Caleb shouted.
Jason drew a gun.
"Noah!" Caleb yelled.
Noah rushed in.
"Drop it!" Noah commanded.
Jason hesitated.
Regina's voice echoed in his mind.
"Kill Brianna"
As Jason fired, Caleb shielded Brianna.
A bullet shot Caleb through the shoulder.
Brianna screamed.
"Caleb!" Brianna cried.
Noah tackled Jason.
Police arrived, arresting Jason.
As Caleb lay wounded, Brianna held him.
"Don't leave me!" Brianna pleaded. "CALEB!"
