Zaheer’s voice boomed through the hallway as he walked in, his figure tense with defiance, his gaze locked on Meerab.

What nonsense,”

he spat.

You’re not going to do that. I’m not allowing you to sell this house.”

Meerab didn’t flinch; her expression remained calm and unyielding. She glanced over her shoulder at him as she rose from her seat, her gaze steady.

“I didn’t ask your permission, Mr. Zaheer,”

she replied, her voice laced with quiet authority.

It doesn’t matter whether you allow it or not.”

Her words lingered in the air, firm and resolute. She took a few steps toward him, crossing her arms as she looked him directly in the eye.

“My husband and I are moving to Dubai in a few days,”

she announced.

" Before that, this house will be sold and you don’t have any rights to stop me. So I suggest you start looking for somewhere else to stay.”

With that, she turned and walked past him, her head held high, exuding an air of unshakeable determination. Murtasim followed close behind, casting one last look at Zaheer before disappearing down the hallway.

Jahara stood frozen, her face pale. Memories stirred within her—of the time she had ordered the house help not to follow Nazia’s requests during her pregnancy, a cruel exercise of power. She had done it so casually back then, without a second thought. Now, Meerab’s words echoed in her mind, reminding her of the bitter truth that power could shift in an instant.

Zaheer clenched his fists, his jaw tightening as his gaze swept across the room. His frustration mounted, his anger desperate for an outlet. His eyes fell on Mahir, who was still seated at the breakfast table, eating with a calm, unbothered demeanor.

Zaheer took a step forward, his voice thick with disdain.

Your so-called cousin is selling this house, and here you are…having breakfast like nothing’s happening?”

Zaheer’s irritation flared further at Mahir’s indifference. “So…have you thought about where you’re going to stay after this?” he demanded, trying to provoke him.

Mahir leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms casually. His voice was cool, without a hint of concern.

You never thought about me before, but now you’re suddenly concerned about where I’ll stay?”

he said, a trace of irony in his voice.

Wow.”

Zaheer’s jaw clenched, the indifference in Mahir’s tone stinging more than he’d like to admit. Mahir got up, stepping forward to stand face-to-face with him, his expression calm but unyielding.

You don’t have to worry about me,”

he continued, his voice steady.

“I have a degree. I can get a job and stay wherever I want. I even have my parental family, who’d gladly welcome me.”

He paused, his gaze unwavering.

“You, on the other hand…you’re the one who needs to worry about finding a place for your family.”

Zaheer’s face reddened, and he opened his mouth to retaliate, but Mahir’s confidence left him at a loss for words.

Mahir adjusted his cuff links, glancing back at the breakfast table before casting a final look at Zaheer.
