It was a rainy Sunday afternoon when Haerin and Danielle decided it was time. The sky was an endless shade of grey, the streets below shimmering with puddles, the sound of rain tapping softly against the windows of Haerin's apartment. The world outside felt quiet, and the stillness mirrored what had been growing inside her for weeks now.
The past months had been a slow dance of rediscovery. They'd taken their time—getting to know each other all over again, re-establishing the foundation of their relationship, letting it grow naturally and without rush. Now, everything had aligned in a way that neither of them had expected. The late-night talks, the lazy weekends spent watching movies, the simple joy of just being together—it had all led them to this point: the point where it felt right to take the next step.
Haerin stood in her living room, hands tucked into the pockets of her sweater, staring out at the city. She felt Danielle's presence behind her before she even heard her footsteps—she had that kind of ability to slip into a room unnoticed, even though she was a little taller than most people.
"Everything packed?" She asked softly, her voice warm as she stepped up beside her, peering out the window too.
"Almost," Haerin replied, her voice thick with emotion. "I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm... moving in with you."
Danielle chuckled softly, her fingers brushing against hers in a reassuring way. "I think 'we're' doing this," she corrected gently, nudging her playfully. "You're not doing it alone."
