Chapter 2

(TIME SKIP: few hours later to when Padme is sleeping).

(anakin's pov)

I am so extremely tired, and I just want to fall to my knees and sleep on the dirty floor right here right now I don't care anymore. I've been having terrible nightmares about my mother lately, such graphic and fearful dreams. I would tell Obi-Wan, but I just know it would lead into a stupid meaningless lecture. I have told Y/n though, she seems to understand since she has nightmares as well. Her nightmares are more blurry though, at least she says that. I try getting out my head by looking towards Y/n to see what state she is in as well. We have been watching over the same floor Padme's sleeping quarters is at, to make sure whoever is trying to kill her won't get near her or anyone else for matters.

Crickets fill the room. I'm leaning on the opposite door frame side as Y/n is leaning on, she's standing tall with her dainty but strong forearms crossed against her lower chest, looking to her side view pretending i'm not staring directly at her. I decide to break the awkward silence and tension,

"Are you okay Y/n?" I can sense she's exhausted just like I am. She turns her jaw so now she is facing me, i'm now looking at her Y/e/c eyes and she's looking into mine as well, "I'm fine Anakin." Her tone is gentle but also on edge sounding. She leans her head against the wall now looking up then closes her eyes for a few seconds. All I can do is stare at her and try to read her.

Before anything else happens I hear movements and noises that sound like it's coming from the Senator's room, "Y/n get behind me I hear something, let's check it out." As me and Y/n are rushing towards the room I try looking at the camera's but the notice they're covered, "Darn Padme." Y/n behind me replies to my previous comment, "I can very much stand beside you rather than let you take all the action, thank you very much." I roll my eyes at her reply to my obvious protectiveness.

I've always had a weird urge to protect her and make sure no harm comes to her, and never seemed to question it. I don't think of Y/n in any way like that of course, though her beauty is like a goddess's no doubt, I wouldn't be allowed to look at her in that light anyways. The council would never allow it. But it doesn't matter anyways. These thoughts are sitting in the back of my mind while me and Y/n are still running towards Senator Padme's room. Once I open the door I see I rush in and see two creatures on Padme. I run to her, killing the slug looking killers with my blue sword. Padme then is waken up by the action.

I look around to find Y/n, then I notice Obi-Wan is in the room as well. They are looking at the window and see what it looks like to be a tracking droid. Before my master can say anything he breaks through the window, grabbing onto the droid in the air. "Padme, stay here. Y/n, come on!" Padme and Y/n nods as they then listen to my orders, me and Y/n rush out the door.

Me and Y/n are now outside, "Y/n, get on! I'm driving!" Me and her get on the yellow speeder, and right as she sits down I take control of the ship, "Hang on!" We are speeding through traffic as we try to find our teacher, "Do you see him anywhere?" I ask the Y/n, "No... wait yes! make a sharp turn to the left Anakin!" I do as she says then see my master falling down from the sky, "Obi-Wan!"

"I got him!" I turn to the right a little bit so I am right below Obi-Wan, going more and more down so I can make it in time before he falls to his death. He is able to grab onto the back, he then carefully but quickly jumps to the front where me and Y/n are. Y/n tries scooting in the middle, making room for her brother as much as possible. "What took you guys so long?" I see Y/n roll her eyes out of annoyance, "Oh, you know brother. I couldn't find a speeder that matched my aesthetic well. That also had the open cockpit and right speed capabilities." I laugh at her sarcasm and roll my eyes as well. Obi-Wan shakes his head in slight disappointment, "Right now is not the time to be thinking what color you look good in Y/n." Y/n then interrupts his brotherly comments, "Guys look he's over there!" We're now following the speeder of the man who is trying to assassinate Padme in, following its every move to make sure we don't lose him. "We're going straight down everyone brace yourselves."
