Standing at the edge of the field, Kaira looked around, taking in the wide-open space with awe. The stadium looked different from here, almost humbling in its size. She'd seen it from the stands so many times, but being on the field itself felt surreal.

Shubman glanced over at her, noticing the way her eyes sparkled with excitement. "So, what do you think?" he asked, grinning.

"It's incredible," Kaira replied, her voice filled with wonder. "I never thought I'd get to see it from this angle. You must feel amazing playing out here with everyone watching."

Shubman chuckled softly, a hint of reflection in his gaze. "It is amazing, but it's a lot to handle sometimes. All the expectations... it can be intense."

Kaira nodded, sensing the weight behind his words. "I can imagine. But you always seem so calm, even when the pressure's on. How do you do it?"

He shrugged, his gaze shifting to the empty stands as if picturing them filled with fans. "I try to focus on the game itself, you know? When I'm out there, everything else fades away. The cheers, the noise... it's just me, the ball, and my team. That's all that matters in those moments."

She admired the way he spoke, his voice carrying both confidence and humility. "That sounds... incredible. I always wondered what it must feel like to have everyone's eyes on you, relying on you."

He smiled, looking down for a moment as if gathering his thoughts. "It is, but it's also unpredictable. One day, everything goes right, and you feel like you're on top of the world. The next day... well, things don't always go your way." He paused, then glanced at her, his tone softening. "But I think that's what I love about it. The unpredictability. It keeps me going, makes me want to improve every day."

Kaira listened intently, feeling drawn into his perspective. "I think that's what makes it all the more inspiring to watch. It's like... we see the polished moments, but there's so much behind each one."

He smiled at that, nodding. "Exactly. Sometimes people only see the highlights, but there's a lot of sweat and a lot of setbacks behind each one." He paused, giving her a thoughtful look. "Do you ever feel that way? Like people see only one part of who you are?"

Kaira was surprised at his question. She hadn't expected him to turn the conversation so personally. "Yeah, I think everyone feels that way sometimes. Like... I'm about to finish my degree, and people assume I have it all figured out, but really, I'm still figuring out what I want to do."

Shubman gave her an encouraging smile. "I think that's okay. We don't have to have all the answers right now. Sometimes, the journey itself is the best part."

Kaira felt a spark of confidence from his words, as if he truly understood her struggles. She looked at him, grateful for this unexpected moment of honesty they were sharing.

As they stood there, watching the empty field, he turned to her and said, "Thanks for coming today. It's nice to talk to someone who sees things a bit deeper than the scoreboard."

Kaira smiled, her heart feeling light. "Thank you for inviting me. This is... beyond anything I could have dreamed."

They exchanged a quiet smile, the connection between them feeling genuine and unforced. It was as if, in the middle of this massive stadium, they'd carved out a small world just for the two of them, built on honesty and a shared love for the game.

The past month had been a whirlwind for Kaira. Her exams demanded all her attention, and with her nose buried in textbooks and her schedule packed, she barely had time for anything else. She hadn't spoken to Shubman since that day at the stadium, and part of her missed those moments. But with her exams just around the corner, she'd forced herself to focus.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Kaira finished her last exam. The weight of stress lifted, and she celebrated by scrolling through Instagram, catching up on everything she'd missed. Just then, she noticed a new post from Shubman, and her heart skipped a beat.

It was a casual photo of him with his teammates, his trademark smile lighting up the picture. "Feels good to be back on the field. Here's to new beginnings!" the caption read.

Without thinking twice, she tapped on the comments section and typed out a response, her fingers moving quickly across the screen.

"Looking great, Shubman! All the best for this season!"

She didn't expect much-he probably received thousands of comments, and she'd gone quiet for so long. But to her surprise, a notification popped up just moments later.

Shubman Gill replied: "Thank you, Kaira! Hope things are going well with you too. It's been a while 😊"

Kaira's heart raced as she saw his reply. A simple response, yet the fact that he'd remembered her, that he'd noticed her comment, brought back all the feelings she'd tucked away during her exams. She quickly typed back, a smile spreading across her face.

"Yes, it has! Exams took over my life, but I'm free now. Can't wait to see you play!"

His reply came shortly after, and she could practically picture his smile: "Glad to hear it! Maybe we'll catch up again soon."

Kaira's cheeks flushed as she read the message, and she felt a renewed sense of excitement, realizing that even after all this time, he'd remembered her.

As she put down her phone, she couldn't help but wonder if this was the start of a new chapter-one where distance and time apart couldn't quite dull the spark between them.
