OUTERBANKS | season one, episode one chapter three: ex thing
THE BURNING SENSATION of alcohol settled into Cami's throat while the chatter amongst other people were tuned out for her. She stood by Kie, wrapping an arm around her as they walk towards John B.
"Sarah, Sarah. Be careful." Someone spoke up which made the two look over ahead of them to see the Kook princess ; Sarah Cameron.
"What is she doing here?" Kie questioned. If looks could kill, Sarah would be a goner by now.
"If I see her boyfriend, I'm outta here." Cami mumbled, rolling her eyes and walking away to go talk to some other people.
"Cami, over here!" A group yelled for her. Cami smiled and skipped over to them, careful not to spill any of her drink in the red cup.
"Hey Cam." A girl smiled at her.
"Hey Ellie." She greeted back, nodding her head. "How's it going you guys? I haven't seen you since school ended a few weeks back."
"We're fine." All of them shrugged their shoulders. "How is living half Kook and half Pogue? Must be nice to have a big home."
Cami felt a pang in her heart, feeling awful. A lot of people questioned why she would choose the 'not so good life' over the 'you could have whatever you want' life.
She simply answered with a, "Because I love my friends." But it was so much more than that. Cami wanted to live for the fun. She didn't want to regret anything until her last breath. Being a Pogue meant you could do whatever you want, you could explore fun adventures and have fun parties.
She didn't want to be known as the stuck up Kook who hid herself away from everyone because her Dad changed for the richer. Plus, Cami has half Pogue blood in her, right?
Cami quickly responded back. "Well, I'd rather have fun with my Pogues."
"Hey, are you still dating that one crazy Kook? What was his name? Raphael? It's Raphael right?" A boy asked her, which made her tense up.
Ellie nudged his arm. "Shut up, don't bring that up. And also, his name is Rafe, idiot."
Cami pursed her lips, nodding her head. "Yeah, Rafe Cameron. We're not dating anymore. I don't want to date a douche."
"I'm sorry Cami." One of them felt pity for her.
She shook it off. "It's nothing really. I'm not hurt by it, I actually was the one who broke it off, so.." Cami was visibly uncomfortable with the topic of Rafe Cameron, which made Ellie quickly change the topic to something else.
