----☆----

Now that Japan had turned to night, Argentina had become day. Oikawa had practice today like usual, so he got to the gym using his car and then got into the locker rooms to change into his jersey. There were only about 3 weeks until the concert and decided to practice as much as he could before going to Japan since he planned to stay for 2 weeks or maybe more.

It had been a few years since he visited Japan, so he wanted to spend some time with his high school friends. Besides, his coach agreed to this, and they didn't have any upcoming games in a while.

However, he would have a chat with Iwaizumi later. He found out his feelings and wanted to plan a way to confess. He wanted to make the confession special since it had been more than 5 years since his feelings started. He just didn't realize them then. During practice, Oikawa was a bit less focused, sometimes missing some sets or receives since he was busy thinking of something to do for Kaoru.

Maybe a date? But where? To a restaurant? To a picnic? To a mall? To the cinema? There were just so many options, and he wanted to make his confession perfect. Kaoru was perfect, so he deserved the perfect confession, but what was the perfect confession?

He was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't realize that a ball was flying straight towards him. It was too late when he realized it, which resulted in getting his face whacked with the ball, resulting in a nosebleed and a seat on the bench for the time being.

"Yo, Kawa. You've been distracted lately. What the hell happened?" A teammate of his asked, coming to check up on him.

"It's nothing...just realized that I've been in love with one of my closest friends since high school and just figured it out yesterday."

"Kaoru?"

"Yeah...I just can't believe I didn't realize it sooner. I was more focused on volleyball than I thought I was, and now I don't know how to confess."

"Well, you are going back to Japan in a few weeks, so why not confess to him then?"

"That's what I'm planning, but what do I do? Do I take him out on a date? Confess to him after his concert? I don't know! He's perfect, and I want to give him the perfect confession, but I don't even know how!"

Oikawa ranted. He was getting a bit too frustrated on the matter. He couldn't believe he was so oblivious back then. He was so focused on Volleyball that he missed the chance to be with Kaoru. He found the man to be perfect. He was attractive, nice, comforting, caring, and so so much more. He wanted to give him everything that he deserved.

"Hey, calm down. I'm sure you'll figure something out. I think your friend is already happy just knowing you're going to his concert."

"I know he is. He didn't stop yapping about the day I told him I would go."

"See? He's already happy."

"Yes, but he deserves way more. I want to do something worthwhile, something that is as precious as he is."

"You know, you're really in love with him."

"...I guess, I am."

"You'll be fine, Kawa. I'm sure he'll love anything you'll give or do for him."

With those words, his teammate left him on the bench to continue the practice match they were doing. His coach then came up to him and told him that he could go home early if he needed to.

Oikawa wanted to practice more but accepted the offer. He changed his clothes and then went to his car, but instead of driving home, he was driving to the mall. He parked his car, got inside, and headed to the jewelry stores.

He remembered Kaoru proposing to him when they first met, so Oikawa thought that confessing his love while doing some sort of proposal was a good way to confess. He spent the entire afternoon looking for the perfect ring, but no matter how hard he looked, nothing was perfect enough for Kaoru, so he just headed home.

----☆----

Once home, he cooked some food, took a shower, and rested for a bit before getting his phone to call Iwaizumi. It was 8 pm in Argentina, which meant it was 8 am. in Japan. Hence, Iwaizumi was probably awake by now.

"Iwa-chan~"

"What do you want, crappykawa?"

"Mean, but anyways. I figured out my feelings."

"Congratulations, now what?"

"Do you have to be so blunt and mean? Anyway, I'm in love with Kaoru, and I want to confess to him, but I need your help with how."

"Well, do you have any initial ideas?"

"I do have one. Remember when we first met him and he proposed to me?"

"...Yes?"

"I plan on confessing that I love him with a promise ring. Do you think it will work?"

"Cheesey, but it makes sense for the both of you."

"So, you think it's a good idea?"

"I'm not saying it's bad. I think he'd like it with how deranged he is."

"Great! So I need help with finding a ring and a place to do it. Please help a friend in need, Iwa-chan!"

"Just send me pictures of rings you think work, and I'll help you pick, and for the place, maybe at the concert or someplace special to the both of you."

"I'll think about it. Anyway, I know you have to get to your job, so I won't bother you anymore. I'll send some pictures of rings to you later."

"Alright, see you, Kawa."

"Thanks, Iwa-chan!"

With that, the call ended, and Oikawa started to look through multiple websites for rings that he thought were perfect for Kaoru. Of course, he wasn't going to propose just yet, but he wanted the confession to be special and personal to the both of them, so this is what he came up with.

He spent the rest of his night scrolling through multiple places to look for some rings. He found a few that were beautiful, but they were missing something, so he kept looking until he found a website specializing in making custom rings. he realized that the only way for him to get the perfect ring for Kaoru would be to get a custom one with a gemstone fit for the singer.

He quickly sent the picture of the ring to Iwaizumi, asking for his opinion if the ring was a good decision and much to his relief, Iwaizumi agreed that the ring was the best choice for Kaoru. Without a moment to spare, he made a call to the website and placed an order for an alexandrite ring with a picture of how he wanted the band to look once it was finished. When he looked at the clock, it was already late in the night, so he shut his phone off and slept for the night.
