----☆----

No! It couldn't be! Oikawa wouldn't let things become like last time.

"Kaoru! Wait!" His feet moved before he could even register what was happening, his hands reached before he even knew what he was grabbing.

But even if he didn't know. He knew that there was only one thing he wanted to do. He held Kaoru's hand. He kept him from leaving. He kept history from repeating. Not after he finally realized what he truly felt.

"Kaoru..."

"Let me go, Oikawa..."

Hearing Kaoru call him by his last name stung. It felt so distant and unfamiliar. He knew he messed up,that he missed his many chances, but he was going to do everything he could to stop this from happening. He wasn't going to make the same mistake of being a coward.

"Kaoru...please. I'm not letting you leave. We're not going to gloss over this like we did before...I-I have too many things to say. Please don't leave me. I know I left you before, but I'm begging you...hear me out."

"I'm sorry...I'm sorry for everything...for leaving, for abandoning you, for ignoring you, for hurting you. I'm so fucking sorry...I'm sorry that I never took an effort to know how you felt. I love you so much. I just never knew it before but I swear to God that I'm never going to hurt you again..." Without any more words, he pulled Kaoru closer, pulling his head to rest on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry..." He held Kaoru as tightly as he could, wrapping an arm around his waist to keep him there. He wouldn't let Kaoru leave.

----☆----

Kaoru's body trembled underneath Oikawa's grasp, tears spilling over his eyes as his hands held onto his best friend so desperately. Those words were ones he thought he would only dream of. The same words he waited to hear for five years. He lost all composure as he broke down. All of his pent up emotions overflowed from bottling too much. He kept every single cry in his body for those five years, refusing to break down in front of anyone.

"Shhh...I'm here now Kaoru...I'm not leaving again so soon..."

"Don't leave...don't leave..." Kaoru cried, begging as he sobbed.

There were many things unsaid between them but all would be revealed in due time. After all, Oikawa was spending two weeks here in Japan. He wasn't leaving until he knew that things were fixed between them. Nothing was going to stop him from doing so.

"I missed you, my pretty wing spiker..." Oikawa gently pulled away, cupping Kaoru's cheek.

"I missed you too, my pretty setter..." Kaoru replied, melting into Oikawa's touch.

----☆----

And finally, after years of mutual pining. Both of them leaned in and kissed. Oikawa kissed Kaoru and Kaoru kissed back. Hearts beating as one and lives intertwining for eternity. Even as the ground cheered, all that Kaoru heard was the beating of Oikawa's heart. The heart that was beating for him.

When Oikawa pulled away, Kaoru was expecting another tight hug but his eyes widened when he saw Oikawa kneel down and pull out a black velvet box. The crowd started to scream louder as they watch Kaoru's cheeks turn completely red.

"Nakamura Kaoru...will you marry me?" Oikawa said, his eyes glimmering with a longing that rivaled his own desire to be the best setter.

If Kaoru wasn't there to support him. Volleyball was worthless.

"Idiot...You're using my own tricks against me..." Kaoru whispered, lightly laughing with tears of joy running down his cheeks.

"Is that a yes?"

"Stupid...We aren't even dating."

"Yet you still proposed to me before we even knew each other."

"Fine...Yes, I'll marry you Oikawa Toru."

In a brisk movement, Oikawa got up and pulled Kaoru into his arms, wrapping his hands tightly around his beloved without another care in the world.

----☆----

Everyone cheered and screamed. Especially the band members and their friends from high school. They've been waiting for this ever since Kaoru's first year. They may have waited for five years, but every single one of it was worth it. Kaoru was happy. Oikawa was happy.

Haruto and Iwaizumi were also very, very happy.

"I love you..I love you...I love you..." Kaoru kept repeating, relieved to have been able to let loose.

"I love you too, Kaoru. More than I let on." Oikawa gently whispered, placing a gentle peck on Kaoru's forehead.

And that was how Karasu became one of the most popular bands in Japan. After the entire concert and a lot of congratulations from their fans and friends, Karasu went on a long break after their hard work and for Kaoru's sake. He was still a bit woozy after the concert.
