Knock

7 1 0

With every ticking of the clock,

I hear not a single knock

Days continue to pass by,

Forgotten the last time I've seen the sky

In my dark little room, all alone

Hoping that this'll be over soon

With every ticking of the clock,

I hear not a single knock

I swore I'd soar so high

That I'd succeed on another try

On the cold lonely floor, on my own

With tears, wishing that I'd be gone

With every ticking of the clock,

This time, I heard a knock

This time, I 'll give another try

This time, for sure, I'd finally see light

An open little door, me with someone

In a blink of an eye, they were gone

With every ticking of the clock,

I heard not a single knock

I heard not even "goodbye"

Now, I don't even long to see the sky

In a tiny lightless box, all alone

Waiting for the day that my time's done

A single door, I never once unlocked

Because of you who never came back.
