Metalocalypse: Impending Doom

Quick A/N

A/N: so I wanted to explain a couple of things to clarify the ongoing situation between Nathalia "Necro" and Salem. Salem was a character based off of me and Nathalia was based off of a friend who was "helping" me "write" this story. There's a pretty basic explanation for why 90% of the story has just been them going back and forth, or Nathalia acting like she's the main character of the entire world/plot.Yet why she was one of the most irredeemable one dimensional characters.

. It was basically a situation of "there's eight people who share the spotlight but what about NATHALIA there's not enough NATHALIA in it", from the co-writer (before I ever published this on here), though  the name of the character at the time was Necro. So the person at the time pretty much kept coming up with more and more things to add to her character. Including but not limited to trauma that all the other characters faced. Which is whatever, until it became a competitive victim complex that leaked into her irl personality.

Abuse and assault, well clearly Nathalia needs to go through that now. Salem was originally supposed to burn down an entire cultist church but Nathalia just had to be the pyromaniac. After Nathalia wanted to do all this shit with fire, which I didn't portray really any of, I was turned off by the idea altogether (for the most part). Childhood grooming, incest, and cults, well now Nathalia needs to go through that, too. Tried to make it work, maybe they met each other at the cult, but no, it wouldn't have and did not work. All she did was copy my work for her character or created her own now non-canon backstory that ripped open a shit ton of plot holes. I got rid of half of Salem's arc just to fit hers in, and then eventually scrapped a majority of that section anyway, and she's STILL a majority of the plot.

 And her powers were not good enough, so I essentially ended up allowing her to steal a bit of a majority of the character's powers. I'm using it to my advantage now and definitely giving her a taste of the infamy she wanted later on, but at the time it was infuriating.

She's the reason the plot is so long with drama and less with actual plot. So much of this was just her trying to make enemies so she could cry about making enemies and play victim in the story. And go through all the things that shhe admitted irl that she wished she had gone through. Half of this book has been edited 10+ times just to shave off some of the unnecessary parts and drama and it's still just that, mostly Nathalia drama. Eventually I began to use it to my advantage, but idk. Sometimes it's too much and steered quite far from what I originally wanted. Salem eventually became her opposite/her kryptonite instead of their own person. They were really only there to vent frustrations, say the things I wanted to say to her irl, be the villain she craved me to be irl so I could prove pretty much that no matter what, she was still worse.

Nathalia the irl person tried so hard to seem like the underrated hero both irl annd in the book, even as she constantly fucked everything up, and I began to resent her. There's a reason, an entire plot reason (no spoilers) for Murr and Salem's situation but she had to go fuck him for the ironic lols and then became angry when I started to portray her character as a not nice person- because the things she had her char do WERE NOT NICE. It is not nice to bag on someone and treat your friend like shit for a behavior that you then do twice as bad, and that was my issue with her irl.

A lot of the words she says in this last argument is exactly the type of thing she would say to me, or directly quoted, irl, while the things Salem said are what I should have or wanted to say to her. Calling herself sensitive when she was mad at me (which the two don't negate or cancel each other out anyway), calling herself nice and funny and being confused why those things didn't immediately make her a saint. Saying she should die because she takes up too much space  instead of fixing shit. Bragging about change, not directly apologizing or even fully acknowledging the behavior before trying to dismiss my perspective of her because she's changed. When the very argument was built on a lie or a behavior that she was portraying at that very minute. There was also that perspective of "oh so I'm the bad guy for being the bad guy".

Irl Nathalia genuinely tried to paint her irl family as abusive after she began writing fanfics. Her brother flashing her was compared so often to my irl "my family member assaulted me" story because she hated that I had the "victimized" life she wanted and wanted to compare little kid things to someone maliciously harming me. Her irl stories began to change to be more morbid after she started writing fanfic.i felt adding that Nathalia was just a fangirl at heart who liked to lie for attention was a nice touch in the story for this reason.

Nathalia is also hypersexualized because that's how Irl wanted her to be and how she wanted her character portrayed, that part I didn't change, I didn't do that to be weird or pervy. I did change the amount of scars and tattoos she had because it was one of those "you think you have more than me but I have more actually" competitive things. I had to cut a lot of cringe shit and kinda humanize a lot of nathalia's behaviors instead of treating it like she was legit a character in the show itself, because she knew I wrote realistically and she wanted to feel like a main character in the show. I tried to portray the behaviors in a way a human being would while retaining their core personalities. While she wanted her character to sleep on a bed made of razor blades every night to add to her scar collectio because she swore it was funny and edgy. She also tried to make her actions not seem that important which is why I began to really emphasize that actions have consequences and that being a giant goof-off doesn't really change the fact that her behaviors directly affected the characters around her. Rather than ignore the fact that she was obnoxious, being sexual without consent, running her mouth, saying stupid shit, and starting fights, I portrayed them as exactly how they would probably hold up irl like I did with every other character and she HATED it.

I'm not confirming or denying Nathalia's death but I am somewhat glad for this chapter because it's the start of healing and fixing everything that was bringing me down and giving me major writer's block. She so badly wanted me to pump out a chapter every week so she could feel good about herself when she obsessed over her character, well maybe one day I can get close enough to that with the freedom to just *not* make it about Nathalia and how much she feels bad for herself after being a pos on purpose. I feel better that when I do write about Nathalia again, I can portray her exactly the way she deserved, I feel better that she was simply a chapter I can move on from and that any mentions of her now is based on no doubts of who she actually is as a person (trying to come up with any redeemable characters almost made me gag).I also feel good that a lot of the things she had nathalia be were eventually painted as lies or just not canonically in the story at all. Sure she has her own perspective of what she thinks Necro her would be like, but the realistic version of that edgy glorified character is out here and is more canon than whatever pathetic incel bs she tries to paint her character as in a story that she was OBSESSED with.

Irl nathalia is my irl rapist as well as someone else's so while I don't expect people to hate her on my behalf, I don't want apologists either. She was a selfish human being who still to this day has only given me the apology of "sorry for doing whatever I did to hurt you" followed by blatant internet lies like calling herself a people pleaser and then crying victim when I didn't forgive her and spouted bs about how nobody's perspective of her matters except her own and how you should let people change (as if my hate stopped her), even though she holds hate in her heart for people who have done less to her than she did to everyone else. Not that I expect a brand new apology, nor would I want one. Kinda going with her own ideology irl, I kinda wish she would just die since rapists don't deserve to live, but ya know. Hopefully by now you know enough of char nathalia to understand that irl nathalia will always twist shit so that she can get away with far more than she allows other people to.

Anyway I felt the need to expand on the nathalia and Salem issue because I know that it was a lot of constant bs and drama, and now that's hopefully over. If you were hoping for the fanfic to pick up after this, you are indeed correct- and any future mentions of Nathalia, whether she comes back or not (no spoilers, is based on the actual plot, not unnecessary drama.

Maybe one day I'll even erase her character Altogether and rewrite this the way I wanted to from the beginning.

For now, the next chapter IS in the works and is about halfway(?) done.
