Chapter 8 - Controversy

Cynthia's POV

"Lost Magic... Light of Golden Smash!" I shouted as I punched a soldier, making the others behind him to fly.

"S-She's too strong!" one of them shivered and I cracked my knuckles.

"Come." I taunted and race towards them in top speed. Then I kicked a few of them from the back and did a front flip to knee the others, making them to groan in pain and onto the ground. I noticed at the corner of my eyes to see another one coming for me but I quickly dodged it and pierced them with my spear.

"Is that all you've got?" I grinned to look back to see all of them down on the ground, and made my spear to disappear.

"..."

"I see... Well I'll be going." I waved bringing up my hood and ran down the hall that I was going down to begin with. Reaching my destination, I came upon a narrow hallway that seemed to be more eerie but at the same time, like of some kind of royalty that leads to these big doors. I looked around to see if there was anyone else around which there wasn't, I took the risk of getting closer and wanting to know wants on the other side of the huge metal door.

I pressed my hands firmly on the door, but not pushing it forcibly and placed my ears against the cold metal to concentrate and hear that would be helpful.

"I'm sure magic will soon vanish from this world. It's not a problem." I faintly heard a low masculine voice to say.

"I don't understand what you're..." another voice answered that seemed to be somewhat of a female.

"Kyouka who are we?" the deep voice asked timidly. I felt shivers to run down my back. His voice gave me the creeps and something didn't felt right. My guts were twisting and churning, a premonition was starting to build on me. I knew, that something bad was going to happen. Whatever that was... I will stop it.

"Demons of the Book of Zeref. Aetherius." the female named Kyouka answered. I gasped in light shock to hear what I thought it wasn't real. But like a dream. 'Somebody pinch me.' I thought and pinched myself, but winced at my sudden action. 'Nope... not a dream at all.'

"What's our goal?" the deep voice asked again.

"To revive Master END and return to Zeref's side." Kyouka answered calmly and I twitched my eye. 'Revive END? Go back to Zeref's side...?! Is this what Zeref meant when we bumped into each other? What the hell is going on...'

"What are humans?"

"Lower than insects." I heard Kyouka to say.

"..."

'Huh? Are they done talking?' I thought. I shrugged my shoulders but leaned closer in and shut my eyes, trying to figure out of what's happening.

There was nothing.

No sound, no peep.

Nada.

That is until I forced my eyes open in shock to hear a scream from the other side of the door. I jumped back and landed on my butt from the sudden surprise. Then I scrambled up towards the door, not thinking of what I was going to do...

I pushed the grand doors wide open, revealing a woman who seemed to be part demon... thinking that it was that Kyouka, since she is the only female aside from me in this room. She was tied up in these weird sickly vines with thorns. She was screaming out in pain and was restrained from moving anywhere. I stared at her in shock and looked to see a guy sitting on a throne with a malicious smirk on his face.
