Londen's POV
The storm came out of nowhere. One moment, the sky was clear and the air crisp with the energy of the city, and the next, dark clouds rolled in, heavy and ominous, filling the sky. The thunder rumbled, the wind picked up, and the first drops of rain began to fall. The streets of the city quickly emptied, people rushing for cover as the storm hit hard.
But not us.
Jaden and I were standing in the middle of the street, the cool rain soaking us as we laughed, our hands intertwined. The sound of the rain splattering on the pavement mixed with the distant rumble of thunder. It was like the world had stopped around us, and there was only the two of us in the chaos.
I looked up at Jaden, the water dripping from his hair, the corners of his mouth curled into that signature grin. “You know,” he said, his voice playful but filled with something else—something deeper, “I’ve always wanted to dance in the rain. Never thought I’d actually get the chance.”
I laughed, looking around. The city streets were empty except for us, the storm driving everyone inside. But here we were, standing in the rain like we were the only two people left on Earth.
“Well,” I said, teasing, “we’ve got the whole city to ourselves now, haven’t we?”
Jaden’s grin widened as he stepped closer to me, his arms slipping around my waist. “I’ve got an idea.”
Without waiting for my response, he pulled me into him, and before I even had the chance to protest, he started spinning me around in the rain. The cool water splashed against my skin, but I didn’t mind. I felt free, alive, as I let him lead me in a dance that had no rhythm, no plan, just pure spontaneity.
We laughed, the sound of our voices lost in the roar of the storm. The streetlights above flickered, casting an ethereal glow over us. Our clothes clung to our bodies, but we didn’t care. In that moment, there was no worry, no fear—just us.
I stumbled, slipping on the wet pavement, and before I could catch myself, Jaden had his arms around me, pulling me close and steadying me. His breath was hot against my neck, his chest rising and falling with the same exhilaration I felt.
“I’ve got you,” he said, his voice soft but reassuring.
“You’re not going to let me go, are you?” I teased, resting my hands on his chest.
“Not for a second,” he said, and I could hear the sincerity in his voice. It wasn’t just the rain or the excitement of the moment—it was real.
---
We continued to spin around, the world outside fading into nothing but the two of us and the rain. His hands moved to my hips, guiding me as we danced without a care, the water washing away everything else. For a moment, I felt like we were the only ones alive, the storm nothing but a backdrop to our perfect little world.
The rain picked up, falling harder now, but neither of us moved. We were soaked to the bone, laughing and spinning, dancing with no rhyme or reason.
Jaden pulled me into him again, his lips brushing against my forehead. “This… this is what I’ve been dreaming of, Londy,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “Just this. Just you and me. No distractions. No fears. Just us, in this moment.”
I closed my eyes, my heart racing. There was so much I wanted to say, but I couldn’t find the words. So, instead, I just kissed him. Soft and slow, the rain falling between us, our lips meeting in the middle of the storm.
It was a kiss that felt like it could last forever. And in that moment, I didn’t want it to end.
When we pulled away, breathless and smiling, I looked up at him, my heart full. “I don’t ever want this to end,” I said quietly, my voice thick with emotion.
“It doesn’t have to,” he whispered back. “I don’t want it to end either.”
---
We stood there in the rain for what felt like hours, wrapped up in each other, completely lost in the moment. The world around us had gone dark, but all I could see was him—his face, his eyes, his smile, and everything that I had come to love about him.
Eventually, the rain slowed down, turning into a soft drizzle. The street, once chaotic with the storm, was now calm, the sounds of the city coming back to life. But it didn’t matter. We were still in our bubble, still standing in the middle of the wet street, our arms around each other like we belonged there.
Jaden lifted his hand to my face, gently brushing the wet strands of hair away from my forehead. His fingers were cold, but his touch was warm.
“We’re not done yet,” he said with a smirk. “The night’s still young.”
I couldn’t help but laugh, the sound of it echoing in the empty street. “What do you have in mind?”
He leaned in, brushing his lips against mine again, his hand still cradling my face. “Just this,” he said, pulling me closer. “Just you and me. And the rain.”
---
We didn’t care about the cold, the wet clothes, or how crazy it seemed. All we cared about was the feeling—the feeling of being alive, of being together, of having this moment that no one else could understand.
And in that moment, the storm didn’t feel like something that had disrupted everything around us. It felt like a part of us. Like it was our storm, our dance, our story written in the rain.
No one else mattered but us.
