The sterile scent of antiseptic mixed with the metallic tang of blood hit your nose the moment you pushed open the double doors of the emergency ward. The controlled chaos inside was deafening: the wailing of injured children, the hurried commands of doctors, and the rhythmic beeping of monitors filled the space. Your heart clenched as you surveyed the scene—a line of stretchers carried in by paramedics, tiny bodies covered in bloodied uniforms, some conscious and crying, others eerily still.

You tightened your grip on your clipboard, your knuckles whitening. This was the kind of scene that haunted your dreams, but there was no time for hesitation. Your job was to save lives, and right now, that meant focusing on the task at hand. The weight of the situation pressed heavily on your chest, but you pushed it aside, channeling all your energy into the here and now.

Jimin and Yoongi flanked you as you hurried down the hall, their faces mirroring the same grim determination. Yoongi's usual calm demeanor was unshaken, but his eyes were sharper, scanning every bed and every patient he passed. Jimin, on the other hand, was visibly shaken, his lips pressed into a thin line, though his hands were steady as he prepared for the onslaught of work.

The sight that greeted you when you entered the main trauma bay was heart-wrenching. Blood-streaked faces, wide eyes filled with fear, and trembling hands clutching at anyone who would offer comfort. Your eyes darted around the room, catching glimpses of your team. Jungkook was kneeling beside a stretcher, his hands gently stabilizing a boy's fractured arm while murmuring soothing words. Hoseok moved swiftly between patients, his usual sunshine demeanor replaced by a sharp, focused energy as he worked with surgical precision to stop the bleeding on a teenager's thigh.

And then there was Jin.

He stood at the far end of the room, his white coat smeared with blood, his brows furrowed in concentration as he examined a young boy's head wound. His hands moved deftly, applying pressure and giving precise instructions to Nurse Jinsu. Despite the chaos, he was a calming presence, exuding a quiet confidence that seemed to anchor the team around him.

Your chest tightened at the sight of him. You hadn't seen Jin alone since that night three days ago. Every encounter since had been in the presence of others, where his professional mask remained firmly in place. You had hoped for even a fleeting moment alone, a glance, a shared whisper, anything to confirm that the connection between you was real and not some figment of your imagination. But here, in the chaos, there was no room for personal feelings. The lives of these children were the only priority.

You were jolted from your thoughts by Nurse Sungmin grabbing your arm. "Dr. Y/L/N, over here! A six-year-old girl—multiple lacerations and suspected internal bleeding."

You followed her to a bed where a tiny girl lay motionless, her face pale beneath the streaks of dried blood. Her dark hair was matted, and her small chest rose and fell in shallow, uneven breaths. Her wide, terrified eyes met yours, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still.
