Chapter 17~ The Shadows

Tom's POV

"Let's get started on cleaning this mess up!" Mianite said.

Everyone went to the ruble and started to pick up. Wag got out a spell and fired it at the ruble, making a huge spot of it disappear.

"Wag what spell is that?" I asked.

"Dig spell." Wag replied. I turned to Mianite. He was watching us clean.

"Can you give me a dig spell?" I asked.

"Why would I do that?" Mianite asked. "Because it'll help clean." I said.

"No, use your hands." He said. I sighed, walking back to help Sparklez with the mess.

"Can't Ianite help us?" I asked Sparklez.

"Probably. I can ask." He said. He called Ianite over to us.

"Yes?" Ianite said.

"Would you possibly have anything to help clean this mess up faster?" Sparklez asked.

"I have a lot of spells I found randomly in a small house. You can see if any of them work." Ianite said, snapping her fingers, making a large spell book fall on the ground.

Sparklez picked it up and flipped through it. He found the digging spells.

"There's two in here." Sparklez said. We both equipped the spells and began to fire away at the mess.

Finally, after a few hours, everything was cleared.

"Thank you to all. Now, let's begin on the reconstruction." Mianite said.

"The three of us can do it. We were the ones who built it, so we know how to rebuild it." Matt said, pointing to Phil and Tom.

"Excellent. But I want the school to be improved from the outside. I want it to look welcoming." Mianite said.

The three nodded.

"So do you need our help anymore?" Tucker asked.

"No. The rest can move along." Mianite said.

Alex, Autumn, Lily, and Kyler all started to walk back to their houses.

Nikki walked back to Wag's tower with him.

"Well, I'm gonna go sleep. Peace bitches." Sonja said, flying into the air towards her house.

"I think I'm gonna watch. Maybe I'll get better at building." Tucker said. He leaned up against a near by tree.

"Tom, do you want to come to my place? Watch some movies maybe?" Sparklez asked.

"Of course." I said. We began walking towards Sparklez home, when I heard someone call my name.

"Hey Sparklez, I'll meet you at your place. I need to do something." I lied. He nodded, continuing his walk home.

I looked everywhere for who called me, but I was unlucky. I began to turn around and head to the tower, when someone grabbed my shoulder. I quickly turned around to see Nade.

"Hello, Tom." Nade said.

"Hey Nade. Do you need anything?" I asked.

"No, I just need to get something through that thick skull of yours." He said.

"Is that a threat?" I asked.

Nade shook his head. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, then quickly opened them, revealing black eyes.

Completely black eyes.

"Hey join the club of black eyes." I said.

Nade ignored me. He had a smirk plastered on his face.

Suddenly, I felt pain on my arm. It felt like someone was writing something on me with a knife.

I looked at Nade. His eyes were still black, and he was still smirking.

The pain soon stopped.

"Spread the word." Nade said. Before I could ask, black smoke consumed him. When the smile cleared, Nade had vanished.

I need to get to Sparklez.

"What do you mean his eyes turned black?" Sparklez asked.

We sat in his room, watching a movie on the tv.

"Let me finish my story. Anyways, when I got the pain in my arm, Nade was smirking. After the pain went away he said 'Spread the word', then vanished in a black cloud of smoke." I said.

"Take off your coat." Sparklez said. I took it off.

Sparklez looked at one of my arms, then the other. He gasped.

"Tom your arm is bleeding. Bad." He said.

I looked at my arm to see that it actually was bleeding. I walked into the bathroom and got some tissues, wiping the blood from my arm. It looked kind of weird. As if someone had actually written something on me.

I looked closer at it to see that it said The Shadows are real.

I ran back to Sparklez and showed him my arm.

"The shadows are real?" He asked.

"I don't know! We need to show the others." I said. Sparklez nodded, making his way out the door and into the outside.

We walked quickly to Tucker's dojo.

Once we reached inside, we yelled his name. I heard the elevators being used.

"What?!" Tucker asked.

I showed him my arm. "Your screwed, Tom." Tucker said.

"Do you know what the Shadows are?" I asked.

"No, but that is scary as shit to me. So I believe that your screwed." He said.

"Thanks for the help." Sparklez said quietly.

The front door opened. I turned around to see Sonja walk through. She had headphones on, looking at something on her phone. You could hear her music from here.

She started to sing along to the music.

"All you si-" Sonja began to sing, but stopped when she saw us. (If you can guess what the song was, I love you.)

She took her headphones off. "Hey guys. What up?" She asked, walking over to us.

I showed her my arm.

"Did you do that?" Sonja asked. "No! I'm pretty sure Nade did." I said.

"I'm pretty sure your screwed." Sonja said.

"I said that!" Tucker said.

"Guys can we just focus on the fact that Tom has stuff carved into his arm?" Sparklez asked.

"You really need to lock your doors, Tucker."

We turned around to see, just our luck, Nade.

"Why'd you write on my arm?!" I asked. "To get the word out." Nade said.

"I want to see your eyes change!" Sparklez said.

I shot a look at him. If Nade writes anything in Sparklez, I'll kill him myself.

Nades eyes turned from the normal color, to the black I saw earlier.

Sure enough, Sparklez started to wince. He can mess with me, he can mess with others, but he sure as hell will not mess with my Sparklez.

I jumped forward to tackled Nade, but the black smoke appeared again, meaning he escaped.

I landed on the floor hard.

"Are you okay, Sparklez?" I asked, laying on the floor.

I sat up from the ground to see him looking at his arm.

I got up and walked over to him. What has Nade done to him?

Then I noticed what he did. On his arm was actually scary.

Your loved ones will soon be gone.
