Jordan's POV

I walked to guard Tom's dead body. I pulled my sword out of his body. When he died, it felt as if a huge part of me got better. I can tell I'm getting better.

But I have a tendency to speak too soon.

Pain filled my stomach. I dropped to the ground, hand to stomach. My breathing became harder. My vision became darker. I could still see, but a black shade filled my eyes.

"He's near." I say, coughing up the black substance. My throat began to burn.

"Who's near?" Tucker asks, readying his weapons. Wag got his spells ready. Sonja and Tom readied their weapons as well.

"Nade."

Tom walked over to me, helping me up. We formed a circle, scanning our surroundings. I began looking around when I saw a black shadow fly by quickly. My vision was still tinted with black. I watched as the shadow went behind Tom, then Nade appearing from it.

"Tom!" I yelled, but was too late. Nade already had Tom in his arms. A dagger was pressed up against his neck.

"What's with the shadows and cutting people's necks?" Wag mumbled. I snickered. That was pretty funny.

"Everyone but Jordan back away, or Tom dies!" Nade yelled. Nobody moved.

"Listen to the guy! I'd rather stay alive!" Tom yelled worriedly. That's when I stepped forward, while the others stepped back.

"We've taken away everything from you, Jordan. We've taken away your mom, your goddess, and your dad."

I froze. "Y-you were the one who killed my dad? He died from an illness.."

Nade nodded. "But your dad brought himself into the situation. He put others in front of himself. He wanted you and your moms safety, but that didn't happen, did it?" Nade chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Tears filled my eyes.

"Oh Jordy. I think now is the time you are told this."

"Tell me!"

"Your father was one of us. He was apart of the Shadows. He was the best one we had. That is until he wanted safety for others, then I struck an illness on him. He died because of me."

I couldn't take this. My dad could have never been with the Shadows. He was a good man.

I gripped my sword tightly. Anger filled my body. My breathing got heavier. I should've stopped myself. I swung my sword towards Nade, but he disappeared with Tom. I could've just possibly killed Tom.

"Jordan, you didn't tell us your dad was apart of the Shadows?" Sonja said. I shot her a look. Her eyes widened.

"Did you even know that he was apart of them?" Wag asked. I shook my head. Why didn't he tell us? It seems to me as of this were all planned out.

My dad dying because of Nade. My mom and I moving to Ruxomar. Nade getting 'picked' to join the Shadows. Him sending Guard Tom to kill my mom. Ianite's death because of the unbalance in the land.

And now we're here. Tom might be dead right now, and we wouldn't know.

"We have to go to Tom. Wherever Tom is, that might lead us to Nade."

"Um, Jordan? How are we going to get to Tom? We've no clue where the hell he is." Tucker said.

"I can use magic to get us there?" Wag offered. I shook my head. "I can teleport there. I think."
