I knock a few times on the door just to make sure there's movement inside the room. After waited for about five minutes, I asked the hotel staff to open the door for me using their spare keys.
"Stay here." I said before going inside the dark room. I stopped in my tracks when I stepped on shards of glass on the floor.
"Lethia." I called out.
"Go away. I don't want to see you or anyone now. You're here just to laugh at me, right? Well laugh all you want. You're happy that I'm in such a state, right? You're happy that I've been lied to. Go away!" I sighed when I finally saw Lethia's back. She seems to be sitting on the floor, curling herself like a ball by the corner of the room.
"Well, someone needs to pay for the damages you caused in this room. I may not be the ideal spouse you hoped for but I know my responsibility. Come on, you can continue sulking once we're back home. At least you'll be destroying the things inside your own room." I took a step back when Lethia threw a book at me.
"You have no idea how heartbroken I am! Jeremiah and I have been together for years. We went through so much together but this is how he repaid all the sacrifices I made for him! By cheating on me with the chief's daughter no less! When I confronted them, that man simply said he's bored with me! Bored!? He wasn't bored when he asked for my money! He wasn't bored when he introduced me to a scammer! He wasn't bored when his family needed some backing! I was used to it! Our love means nothing! How could that man be so heartless!?" How am I supposed to retort that?
