Niki gently picked up Su Hyang and set her down on the couch.

He bent down beside her, his eyes scanning her face.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.

"Did he harm you?" Niki's gaze searched hers.

Su Hyang shook her head, still trembling.

"N-no," she stuttered.

Niki's hands cradled her face.

"I'm so sorry, Su Hyang," he whispered.

"I should have protected you better."

Su Hyang's eyes welled up with tears.

"It's not your fault, Niki," she said.

"You saved me."

Niki's lips brushed against her forehead.

"I won't let him hurt you again," he vowed.

"I promise."

Su Hyang's hands wrapped around his wrists.

"Thank you, Niki," she whispered.

Niki's gaze locked onto hers.

"I'll always protect you, Su Hyang."

Su Hyang's arms wrapped tightly around Niki's waist.

She buried her face in his chest, tears streaming down.

Niki's arms enveloped her, holding her close.

"What happened?" he whispered, trying to soothe her.

"Why are you crying, Su Hyang?"

But Su Hyang didn't reply.

She only held him more tightly.

Niki's grip on her intensified, his heart racing.

He felt her tears soaking through his shirt.

"Su Hyang, please," he urged.

"Tell me what's wrong."

But she remained silent.

Her body shook with sobs.

Niki's tension grew.

He didn't know what to do.

He stroked her hair, trying to calm her.

But his own anxiety spiked.

What had Slade done to her? What was she hiding?

Niki's mind swirled with questions.

But Su Hyang's grip only tightened.

Su Hyang's voice trembled.

"I'm feeling scared," she whispered.

Niki's grip loosened slightly.

"I'm sorry," he whispered back.

"I didn't mean to hurt you."

Su Hyang's tears continued to flow.

"He was scaring me so much," she sobbed.

"I felt so alone."

Niki's arms tightened around her again.

"You're not alone, Su Hyang," he vowed.

"I'm here for you."

He gently stroked her hair.

"Slade won't hurt you again," Niki promised.

"I won't let him."

Su Hyang's cries gradually subsided.

She sniffled, her body still shaking.

Niki handed her a tissue.

"Here," he said softly.

Su Hyang took it, wiping her nose.

Her eyes met Niki's.

"I was so scared," she whispered.

Niki's expression softened.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you," he said.

Su Hyang's gaze dropped.

"It's not your fault," she repeated.

Niki's fingers lifted her chin.

"Look at me," he said.

Su Hyang's eyes met his.

"You're safe now," Niki assured her.

"I won't leave your side."

Niki's eyes crinkled at the corners.

"Okay, don't cry now," he teased.

"Your face gets all red when you cry."

Su Hyang's laughter was weak, but it was there.

She wiped her face with the tissue again.

Niki's finger gently touched her nose.

"See, you're getting all puffy," he said, smiling.

Su Hyang's laughter grew stronger.

"Stop it, Niki," she giggled.

But Niki just chuckled.

"Here you are," he said, handing her another tissue.

Su Hyang took it, blowing her nose.

Niki's smile was warm.

"You're beautiful, even with a red nose," he said.

Su Hyang's cheeks flushed.

But she smiled back at him.

Their eyes met, and for a moment, everything else faded away.

The tension, the fear, the uncertainty.

All that remained was the warmth between them.

Niki's gaze lingered on hers.

Su Hyang's heart skipped a beat.

Su Hyang's smile deepened as she leaned into Niki.

He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.

Their bodies aligned, warmth spreading.

Niki's heart beat steady, a sense of calm washing over him.

Su Hyang's face nestled in the crook of his neck.

Her breath tickled his skin, sending shivers down.

Niki's grip tightened, holding her secure.

For a moment, they just breathed.

The world outside receded, leaving only the two of them.

Su Hyang's voice barely above a whisper.

"Thank you, Niki."

"For what?" he whispered back.

"For being here," she replied.

Niki's lips brushed against her forehead.

"I'll always be here," he promised.

Su Hyang's arms wrapped around his waist.

They stood there, entwined.

A sense of belonging filled them.
