Ashley Pov

So after introducing me to everyone, I was left with Luke & his cousin Maya to have a chat with "so Ashley, do you have a boyfriend?" Maya asks curiously "no, when I was still living with my parents and attending school, working two jobs and taking care of the house & bills... I didn't really have time for boys" I say shrugging causing her to frown "that's shit, my boyfriends name is Tyler but he was busy and couldn't come today" She pouts before Luke's Uncle Ryan walks over.

"Luke, come play some footy with us" He says patting his shoulder roughly, Luke looks at me "you right here with Maya?" He asks in a soft voice "yes, go have fun" I say smiling an he walks off with his uncle "so Luke said you moved in with them but didn't really tell anyone why" Maya says raising an eyebrow "I wasn't in a good place, I couldn't stay in the situation I was in so they told me I had to move in, they've been nothing but lovely to me.. something I was never familiar with" I say sighing with slumped shoulders.

She frowns at me "Luke lost his Dad when he was 9, he's mother has only been sober 2 years, she neglected him a lot, I reckon he likes you" She says smirking, I shook my head "he doesn't" I say bluntly "bullshit, he's always looking at you, plus you two have been very inseparable today" She says smirking "I asked him not to leave me alone because I didn't know anyone here" I say amused.

"Yeah but you're comfortable with me and he still didn't leave until he was asked to play and even then he asked you so clearly he cares" She says with a cheeky smile just as Jayne walks over with another older lady "Ashley this is my mother Debra, mum this is Luke's friend Ashley" She introduces us with a warm smile "hello, it's lovely to meet you" I say smiling, she stares at me for a sec, tilts her head and I blink startled when she grabs my hands tightly "my god, you've been through hell, sweetheart" She says frowning as I raise my brows at her.

"Grandma is physic" Maya whispers softly making me understand abit better "nothing compared to some" I say softly as she lets go "you're very strong, perfect for our Luke" She says smugly, my eyes widen "their friends, Grandma" Maya explains amused as I stand awkwardly not knowing how to respond "for now" She says with a small smile as they all stare at me, I felt my hands start to shake a little from the situation "Maya, can you come for a walk please" I ask nervously as I felt my chest tightening.

"Yeah of course" She says smiling an locks our arms together as we walk away "thank you" I say softly as we sat down and watch Luke & some others play footy, Luke had taken off his shirt which was very distracting "hey Maya, who's your hot friend" I look up at a tall medium built guy with blonde hair & dark green eyes, kinda cute "this is Luke's friend Ashley, Ashley this is my brother Kyle" Maya says perkily as he sat down in between us, I move away slightly because I was uncomfortable with how close he was "just friends?, lucky for me than" He says smirking, I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Sorry but I'm not interested in dating or screwing around so settle down" I said amused as I notice Luke looking over at us "fine, your loss, Luke is staring at you" He states smirking at me, I roll my eyes "he might be watching the clouds" I say shrugging, Maya laughs "yeah right" She snorts. "Luke!" We all look over to see someone had tackled Luke and he wasn't getting up, I quickly stood up and run over as Maya & Kyle followed, I fall to my knees beside him "Luke, are you ok?" I ask worriedly as I help him sit up, he grunts "I'm fine, just wasn't paying attention" He grumbles as he refused to look at me.

"Let's go everyone, lunch is ready!" I hear his mum yell out and everyone walked away except for me as I stay with Luke "what's wrong?" I ask placing my hand on his shoulder "it doesn't matter, what did Kyle say to you" He asks looking at me with narrowed eyes "just tried hitting on me, I said it wasn't gonna happen and he was fine after that, I'm not interested in screwing around, come on let's go eat" I say smiling at him, he nods.

I stood up and held my hands out, he takes them and I help him up "are you hurt?" I ask as he winced a little "I'm fine" He says sternly an picked up his shirt, he puts it back on and we silently walk over to where he's family were eating, we sat down together after grabbing some food and I notice a few people were watching us as we ate.
