FIRST CARE

Vrushali frowned before blinking her eyes open. She felt so weak as if she was beaten to death and tried sitting up but soon winced as she heard loud voice "Rani sa! You woke up....you scared us".

Sanchi helped Vrushali sit up arranging pillows to the headboard so she could lean back then handed her the glass of water making Vrushali drink it slowly and hand the glass back before sighing closing her eyes. The scene before her played when she jumped into the balcony and how she all of a sudden fainted as if she was hit on the head and then falling down because she couldn't see anything clearly.

She opened her eyes when she thought back to the pendant and pushed the blanket away and her pallu to reveal the pendant tucker into the saree near her waist making Sanchi part her lips "Rani sa! You're a genius".

Vrushali smiled but soon looked up when Sanchi continued "But this is what made you faint! Raja Saab was so worried. He didn't even leave your side the whole day and went out just now saying he has work".

"He was by my side all day?" Vrushali couldn't believe her ears.

Sanchi nodded and held her hand in the other "You were holding onto him like this as if you'll lose him if you let go and the best part, he didn't mind or complain about it and sat beside you taking care of you".

Vrushali teared up looking at her 'No wonder my hand felt cold and empty now'.

"Where is he?" Vrushali asked.

"I think Raja Saab went out for work" Sanchi replied "But please eat something! The royal physician said you're weak and need some fluids and food in your body so let me bring the food" before walking out.

Vrushali looked to her right side and imagined Karna sitting beside her holding her hand making her smile and caress the space he must have sat down before getting down and slowly walked towards the washroom.

By the time Vrushali walked out after a warm bath and changed she saw Karna sitting on the couch with the food tray before him. She smiled and took steps forward "You were waiting for me" and sat down beside him.

"You should eat for you to stay alive! Otherwise how would I know who sent you here and what evil intentions you have" Karna served the food in the plate before handing it to her.

"Can't you feed me?" Vrushali raised her eyebrows.

"Either you eat or stay hungry" saying he was about to pull back the plate but she immediately took it from him and started munching on the food.

His lips twitched but he hid it well from her and ate his food silently. She finished her food and put away the plate before washing her hands and leaned back satisfied that her stomach is full "Gosh! I didn't know I was this hungry".

"You ate for a whole village" Karna pressed the bell making Sanchi walk in and take away the food cart.

Vrushali scoffed "Excuse me! Are you calling me fat?"

"Are you not?" Karna looked at innocently.

"You..." Saying she threw the pillows on him making him duck aside soon she ran out of pillows making her hit him with her arms.

"Stop it..." He tried to move away but she got on her knees and started hitting him hardly.

"How dare you call me fat..." She started pinching him so he wouldn't block her blows but he held her wrists in his one arm and pushed her on her back pinning her hands on the arm rest.

She struggled to get out of his hold "Let go...let go of me..." making him tighten his hold on her.

"Who do you think you're to hit me?" He gritted out.

She stopped struggling and looked straight into his eyes "Your wife" making his expression soften.

"You're not my wife" He mumbled.

"I am! The only person I remember from my past is you" She mumbled back.

"I don't even know you and I didn't lose my memory so you have to believe me when I say I'm not your husband" Karna stated.

Vrushali's eyes teared up "You were, you are and you will be my husband that's decided and no one can change the fate" and the tears rolled down her temples.

He moved his face closer to hers and bent down moving his cheek against her temple which made his face tear stain too "Don't cry".

"Your words are making me cry! Never ever say that you're not my husband, that you don't know me" She sobbed.

"I really don't know you" She was about to argue but he shut her mouth with his palm "But I'm going to find out the real you: where you are from, who your family is and who tried attacking you. This is my vow to you! Until then you can stay here as my wife".

She spoke something against his palm making him move his palm away "I'm your wife who will follow you and if it is me you want to solve the mystery about then I'll support you no matter where it will take me" before pressing her forehead against his sealing the promise.
