Days passed, and Yujin started showing up more and more at her brother's house. Hanni tried her best to avoid her, but pretty soon Yujin started wearing her down, and she even laughed at a few of her jokes.

Yujin even tried playing Scrabble with her, but Hanni could tell she was pretty bored with it. Yujin's game was cards. Poker, to be exact. Hanni had played before, but she was nowhere near as good as Yujin. Yujin would beat her every time. And something in her eyes when she won was unsettling for Hanni. Almost like this lust for winning. She had to win at all costs. Hanni thought about that night Yujin bet Minji in the pool game, how dark Yujin's eyes had seemed when she had lost. And again, when Hanni had taunted her at Minji's party, and she told her not to bet with someone who would beat her every time. Again, Yujin's eyes darkened. Hanni tried to shake off the thought and concentrate on the game.

"So, a friend of mine is throwing a small party tonight. Wanna go?" Yujin asked, placing down another card.

"No, thanks," Hanni said as she studied her cards.

"Oh, come on, Hanni! Live a little. You go to the restaurant, then come back here and read, then go back to work. You're too young to be this boring. It will be fun," Yujin said.

"Yujin, I'm content right here. But thanks for the offer."

"Please... please. I need a date. You wouldn't want people to think I'm a loser, would you?"

"Yujin, I'm sure some already do," Hanni quipped, while placing a card down.

Yujin pretended like Hanni had struck an arrow to her heart. "See! That's why I need you. Who else is going to keep this huge head of mine from taking off?"

Hanni laughed and shook her head. "Yujin, no. Besides, I have nothing to wear to stuff like that."

"Problem solved, I'll buy you something now," Yujin said as she placed her winning hand down and left the table.

Hanni hopped up. "No! Wait, seriously, don't do that!" she called after her.

Yujin stuck her fingers in her ears and walked toward the door. "I can't hear you... be back in a bit," she said, grabbing her jacket and leaving.

"Fuck!" Hanni thought. She walked back to the table to clean up the game. She grabbed a book and went to her room.

About an hour later, Yujin appeared at her door.

"Knock, knock," she said while barging in. Hanni could tell Yujin held something behind her back. "For you," Yujin said, holding up a very short, strapless bright brown dress in one hand, then pausing for a moment before producing the heels in her other hand.

"Yujin! I... no, no, no! I'm not going. And I asked you not to spend any money on me," Hanni said, clearly pissed.

"Hey, don't worry. I got this dress from a flea market. Seriously, there might be some stains on it." Yujin quickly ducked from the box of tissues that Hanni threw at her.

"Come on, you have no excuses now," Yujin said mischievously.

Hanni sighed and leaned back against the headboard. She did kind of want to get out of the house for a bit. Just not with Yujin and definitely not at one of her parties. She would just die if she ran into Minji.

"You said it's a small party, right? A close friend of yours?" Hanni asked, slowly feeling herself caving.

"Yep. Small party, close friends."

Hanni didn't want her to think she was thinking about Minji, but she had to ask. "And no chance of running into Minji, right?"

"Nope, she's not invited," Yujin smiled.
