Chapter 18

When I arrived at Lando's house, I immediately disappeared into the guest room and got dressed ready for bed. Was there any point to all this shit? I was happy in Miami that I was really well regarded and now? Monaco was different, I knew that, but where did they get this shit from again? My door was ajar and so I could hear Lando on the phone."Charles, I realise that, but a crowd like that!!! Fuck they went after me and El Leclerc specifically," I heard the Brit say.

"Yes, thank you for taking care of it," he said and I decided to go back to the living room. When Lando saw me, he immediately had a sad look on his face. "It's all good. The press is the enemy when you're in public Lando," I said and walked towards him.

"But they said things to you that weren't okay. We'll be everywhere again tomorrow," he sighed and I nodded. "But that's our goal, isn't it?," I asked the Brit cautiously. "Yes, but not like this. If something like this happens again, I'll have to report it to my management. They always hear everything and have already asked me what you are to me, but they are getting impatient," he said and I nodded.

Lando was right. This incident was in the news over the next few days. But on a more positive note. Apologise, please!," she said sharply and my expression changed. I stood up and patted the dust off my jeans. "It could be nicer," I said and the blonde rolled her eyes.

"You ran into me!!! Don't you have eyes in your head?," the girl asked again and I sighed. "Sorry, I was too distracted to write someone important," I grinned and crossed my arms in front of my chest.Only now did she seem to check me out. Her expression changed abruptly and she grinned. "Ah, Lando's affair, I'm surprised you're even here," she laughed and I grinned.

"Why shouldn't I show my face? I love F1 and Lando and I have nothing to hide?," I asked her and laughed. "As if he wants someone like you? Your reputation precedes you," she said spitefully."Oh and yours doesn't or what? Margui, you don't know me and I don't know you, so you'd better leave it alone. If you'll excuse me. We'll meet up with the other girls," I said, walking past her and Carmen following me.

"The Portuguese lady won't like that," laughed Carmen as we walked up the stairs to the lounge. "Fuck her. I really don't know what Lando saw in her back then," I said. "Don't ask me. We all don't know," Carmen laughed when we reached the top."What don't we all know?," asked Kika, who had overheard our conversation. "We met Margui down in the paddock and let's just say she wasn't friendly," Carmen sighed. "Did she say anything?," asked Alex, who had joined us. "Yes, but El didn't put up with it," laughed Carmen and so I told them everything that had happened."She can't let it go either. Has Lando actually spoken to you?
