After that morning he was just gone.. It was just silent in my flat
Time: 7:48am
My head was still throbbing from the night prior yet I still got up to get back to the archives. I'm pretty sure he would say if he was there "you should really say home. get some rest" but even if he was still here, I would have gone anyway.
Taking the train, hanging onto the pole and standing up against it, I noticed that there were hardly any people.
I get it was 7 am but it was completely silent, calming even. there was no reason for this, It was central London for god sakes. So why was it so calming? I stepped off the train heading to the archives. The streets were empty. It shocked me but I shook my head saying it was my paranoia until I got to the archives. empty as well. All the lights were off, no one in sight. not even Jon, which he would be the first one here.
though I took a deep breath and just stood there remanesting what was there, immediately taking my seat in my chair and started looking into the statements that were on my desk. continuing what I had started.
Everything seemed so fresh from when I left it, more clear or was it just that I had slept? That didn't matter then what really mattered was to look through them.
By the time I actually got the chance to take a break it was nearly 4:23 and yet there was no one to be seen. No Martin, no Jon, which both would have come in by now. Was something wrong? Had I been dreaming, No I felt real and the things around me in my view were seeable well in this case, not foggy or hard to see.
Just what surrounded me though was I actually here? I couldn't shake it out of my mind that's until I stepped into the archive halls and ran to Martin?
Upon dropping his paper I quickly ran to the floor to help home pick them up

"Sorry! Did see you there"

"It's- Marcus what are you doing here? I thought I told you to-"

I've cut him off

"To get some rest I know, but I just felt so great
after taking a minute to actually rest!"

Obviously I was lying but in a way I did. I felt better than I had considered the following night.

"You sure? You had a pretty bad fall, I could-"

"No, it's fine plus you look to be busy anyways would want to trouble you"

"But I'm not real-"

I had cut him off once again.

"Martin no, I'm fine get your work done for Luca I know how important that is to you"

"How how did you-"

And I walked out. There was no other reason that I could bother him but having him drive me home and why? I felt fine other than my head throbbing so what, going to him would be taking 45 minutes of his day away from him? He was already clutching up with work so why not give the precious time he needs?
I got back to the archive pretty quickly knowing that there was more to read, yet Martin still sat in There, looking at my desk.

"What are you doing?"

"Oh sorry I'm just reading..."

"Reading?"

"Well there's-"

He cleared his throat, I held my hand out knowing that he had something.
"Give it here"

He looked at me with no question though with a shocked look.
"Don't take things from my stake..."

"But Jon-"

Cutting him off once again I looked at him with a somewhat disappointed look.

"Jon what? If he needs something from my desk he can come get it himself"

As he looked at me he gave suspicion in his eyes, as I looked I gave a sigh.

"Guessing he's still recording?"

"Yep..."

"Not one of your tasks though is it?"

"N-no I just...he needs it and if your not willing-"

"Oh I'm willing. What case?"

Saying with a creased tone of voice trying to get across that annoyed me.

"Case #0161401..."

Looking through the rest of the files flipping through them I could one look up with a curtain glare.

"Here..."

I held it out to him though held it tightly, as he when to grasped his hand onto the vanilla colored file I only held on tighter unit he could actually take out of my hand.

"Thanks.."

"Mhm.."

I gave a small smile yet still held harshness behind it. After he walked into the archive halls I continued looking through the files. leaving me in the archives alone again, until I came across a strange one with no name or regardance to what that statement was about. for me?
